ARABELLA

"Somebody has destroyed half of your places, demolished the buildings, kidnapped the families of the workers and now sending their videos having a knife under their chin. Workers are questioning why it's happening all of a sudden, we're unable to stop them" I hear.

"And you're telling me all of this now?!" Romano's tone holds a blend of surprise and anger.

"It- It all happened in the past one hour only" it was a scared, small voice that I managed to hear, "And it's informed that Luca is behind all of this. We need to stop him before he harms all the families"

Romano pauses and lets out a small laugh when the realization hits him, "He won't do anything to them. It's just an attempt to scare us so that we are forced to leave this girl. Such a pity move"

I gulp. He's right here.

Luca won't hurt any innocents, especially families. He knows too.

Luca thinks it'll make any difference here. Romano didn't even hesitate in killing those three men over nothing, I don't think he would put his workers' families' lives above his interest.

"But we're receiving dead bodies of our workers continuously..." I hear another hesitant voice, "I don't think it's the same anymore."

There's an awkward silence.

When they all left to discuss the further actions that needed to be taken, I continued cutting the rope. It hurts like hell, I can't even look at the condition as they've tied my hands from behind.

After what felt like an eternity, I was successful in freeing myself from the ropes. I sit up and cautiously bring them into my line of sight. The sight is disheartening and scary.

My hands appear swollen and larger than usual. They're continuously bleeding from the cuts. The knuckles are bruised, and the fingers, though now free, tremble.

The sight before me makes me question... are my hands useless forever?

I run my hand over my stomach. I sense a very strange feeling in this jacket. Who made me wear this?

I slowly pull the zipper down.

I gulp hard. There's a machine connected to my body under this jacket.

What's going on with me?

I take off the jacket and look carefully. It... seems like a bomb. Realization hits me like a truck, it's the moment where I'm holding my breath in fear that it might blast if I move too much.

This thing is glued to my body like a corset and I can't find a way to detach it from myself.

Why these problems aren't ending?

I check the door if there's any sound. But I guess nobody is there now. I can't be sure.

I try to open it but it's locked.

I sigh sadly. When I look around the room, I see there are some open windows at the top of the walls. That's the only way out left for me, but how would I get there?

I rip the jacket into long strips and tie them around my hands, creating makeshift padding. It's not ideal, but it'll have to do for protection in the upcoming fight.

I can't wait for anybody to come and save me.

I quickly climbed the wall by adjusting the table. Peeking into the adjacent room, I spot a lone man holding a knife directly below me.

The strain on my hands becomes unbearable, and I'm on the verge of giving in. He catches the faint sound of my struggle, glancing up in surprise.

I flip and drop myself on the guy.
