"Come over here and make me"

The sun streamed through the half-open blinds, casting a warm glow across the room as I wrestled with a stubborn box of books. Lando sat on the bed, flipping through a photo album filled with memories from the unforgettable summer that was almost coming to an end.

"Hey, babe, do you remember this?" Lando called out, holding up a faded Polaroid of us at a music festival. I glanced over, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

"Of course, I do. That was the day you convinced me to try cotton candy for the first time," I replied, finally managing to pry the box open. "Sticky fingers and a sugar high—I blame you for that."

Lando chuckled, setting the photo album aside and joining me in the midst of unpacking. "It's moments like these that I'll miss the most," he said, his eyes meeting mine. "But hey, we'll make new memories too, right?"

I nodded, grateful for his comforting words. Today marked the beginning of a bittersweet chapter in our lives—I was moving into university housing for my last year, and Lando, despite his hectic schedule as a Formula 1 driver, had made time to help me settle in.It wasn't easy for him to carve out a few precious hours between races and training, but there he was, folding my clothes with a focus that surprised me. Lando —the charming, quick-witted guy who made a living speeding around tracks in high-performance cars—was meticulously organizing my wardrobe.

"So, are you excited about your final year?" he asked, glancing up from the stack of jeans in his hands.

I sighed, a mixture of emotions swirling within me. "Yeah, I guess. It's just strange, you know? Thinking about life after graduation, the uncertainties. And I can't believe we are going to be apart so much. But having you here now makes it a bit easier."

He smiled, that familiar grin that could melt away any worry. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what. And besides, I'll be, at most, at one flight away."

Those words made me want to hold him and not let him go. I back-hugged him as he continued folding my clothes. As I rested my head on his shoulder, the reality of our impending separation began to sink in. A knot tightened in my stomach, and a wave of sadness washed over me. The thought of navigating the final year of university without him by my side felt daunting.

"Hey," Lando whispered, his fingers gently lifting my chin to meet his gaze. "What's going on in that brilliant mind of yours?"

I sighed, a mixture of emotions swirling within me. "I was just thinking about how different everything will be once classes start. You know, not having you around all the time."

Lando's expression softened, understanding clouding his blue eyes. "I know it's tough, babe. But we'll figure it out. Distance can't change what we have."

Despite his reassuring words, a pang of sadness lingered. Lando sensed the shift in my mood and, ever the master of levity, decided to change the atmosphere.

"Speaking of figuring things out," he said, a mischievous twinkle in his eye, "what's the deal with these?" He held up a pair of underwear, a smirk playing on his lips.

I blinked, caught off guard by his sudden change of topic. "What are you doing with my underwear?"

Lando wagged his eyebrows playfully. "Just trying to help with the unpacking, you know? But seriously, are these supposed to go in the 'everyday' drawer or the 'special occasion' drawer?"

As Lando continued his playful exploration of my underwear drawer, he couldn't resist a triumphant exclamation as he held up a delicate, lacy thong. "Aha! What do we have here? I think I just found the tiniest piece of fabric in the universe."

I couldn't help but blush at the realization of what he was holding. "Lando, give me that! It's not a toy," I protested, reaching for the dainty undergarment.

But he was too quick, slipping the thong over his head and securing it around his eyes like an impromptu eyepatch. "Arr, matey! Captain Lando is ready to navigate the treacherous waters of unpacking!" he declared, striking a comically serious pose.

I couldn't help but burst into laughter at the absurd sight before me. "You are ridiculous," I managed to say between fits of giggles.

Lando, undeterred, struck a series of exaggerated pirate poses, making swashbuckling sounds with each movement. "Come on, love, join me on this high-seas adventure! Arrr!" he called, making his way towards me.

I attempted to snatch the thong from his head, my face still flushed with laughter. "Give it back, you goofball!"

Lando danced just out of my reach, teasing me with a playful grin. "Come over here and make me!"

Our playful chase continued, the room filled with laughter and the sounds of our playful banter. Eventually, we ended up on the floor, tangled in a mess of clothes. Lando, still wearing the thong on his head, looked down at me with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

"Well, well, looks like I've captured the elusive future professor of physics. What's my ransom?" he joked, his eyes locked with mine.

I couldn't hold back my laughter, feeling the tension of the impending separation dissipate. "I'll pay any price to get my underwear back."

Lando, ever the charmer, leaned in close. "How about a kiss as payment?"

Before I could respond, his lips met mine in a soft, reassuring kiss. In that moment, any lingering worries melted away, replaced by the warmth of our connection. Lando broke the kiss, his forehead resting against mine.

"We're going to be alright, you know?" he whispered, his fingers gently brushing strands of hair from my face. "Distance won't change how much I love you. We'll make it work, no matter what."

I nodded, a mixture of emotions swirling within me. Lando's ability to turn the ordinary into extraordinary, to infuse laughter into the most challenging moments, was a gift.

As we lay on the floor, wrapped up in each other's arms, I felt a deep sense of gratitude. Grateful for the silly moments, the laughter, and the unwavering support that Lando brought into my life. Our journey was taking us into uncharted waters, but with him by my side, I knew we could navigate any storm that came our way.
