"Passenger Princess"

The wind whipped through the open windows of Max's sleek car,  and I couldn't help but feel exhilarated. The sun was dipping low in the sky, casting a warm orange glow over the sprawling landscape as we zoomed down the highway. Max, my boyfriend of four whirlwind months, had surprised me with a spontaneous road trip, and I was loving every minute of it.

I glanced over at him, his hands steady on the wheel as he navigated the winding road with ease. Max was the epitome of cool, with his tousled dark hair and confident smirk. He had always been the one to drive us around, never once questioning it. But today, as we cruised along the highway, something seemed different.

"You know," Max said, breaking the comfortable silence between us, "I just realized something."I raised an eyebrow, curious. "What's that?"

"I've never seen you drive," he replied, his lips curling into a playful grin.

I laughed, brushing a strand of hair out of my face. "Well, that's because I don't drive."Max's eyes widened in surprise. "You don't drive? Like, at all?"

I shook my head, feeling a flush of embarrassment creep up my neck. "Yeah, I never got around to it. I've always been more of a passenger princess, I guess."

Max burst into laughter, the sound filling the car and echoing off the windows. "A passenger princess, huh? I never would've guessed."

I scowled playfully at him, swatting his arm. "Hey, don't make fun of me!"

"I'm not making fun of you," he insisted, still chuckling. "It's just... unexpected, that's all."I sighed, sinking back into my seat. "I know, I know. I should probably get my license at some point."

Max grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Or I could just keep being your personal chauffeur. I don't mind, you know."

I rolled my eyes, but couldn't help the smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "You're ridiculous, you know that?"

"Hey, what can I say? I aim to please," he replied with a wink. "Maybe I should teach you!"

Max's offer to teach me how to drive hung in the air between us, a tantalizing possibility that I couldn't quite bring myself to accept. On one hand, it would be nice to have the independence of being able to drive myself around. But on the other hand, the thought of sitting behind the wheel, with Max's nerves fraying and his patience wearing thin, was enough to make me break out in a cold sweat.

"I appreciate the offer, really," I said finally, trying to keep my tone light, "but I think I'll stick to being a passenger for now."

Max's eyebrows shot up in mock offense. "What, you don't think I'd make a good driving teacher?"

I laughed, shaking my head. "It's not that, it's just... you know how you get around traffic."

Max's lips twisted into a sheepish grin. "Okay, fair point. But I promise, I'll be on my best behavior. No road rage, I swear."

I couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of Max trying to suppress his temper in the chaos of rush hour traffic. "I don't know, babe. I've seen you in action. You're not exactly the picture of zen behind the wheel."

Max feigned offense, placing a hand over his heart in mock hurt. "Ouch, that hurts, babe. I'll have you know, I am a paragon of patience and grace on the road."

I raised an eyebrow skeptically. "Is that so?"

"Absolutely," he replied with a smirk. "Besides, what's the worst that could happen? A few minor fender benders, maybe a traffic cone or two?"
