Almost losing

I was in the hallways as I saw Damon running around.

"What's happening?" I asked

"Kai"

"Kai's awake?" I said and stood up.

Damon and I ran in to Liz's room and saw Elena do cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Liz as the heart monitor was beeping

"Stay with me, sheriff" Elena said as we came in

"Elena, hey. What happened?" Damon asked

"It's her heart. I'm losing her, Damon" Elena says with tears in in the eyes.

"No offense, but I think we need a real doctor" Damon said standing by her

"So find one. Now!".

Damon walked out and I stood by Elena as she still tried saving Liz

Damon later came in with a doctor.

"How long has she been down?" The doctor asks

"Down, what's that mean? Dead?" Damon said being Damon.

The doctor took up a defibrillator.

"I- I... I don't know maybe it was a minute. It feels like an hour"

"Clear" he says loudly and then put the defibrillator on Liz skin over and over again trying to wake her up.

He did one last time and then stopped. Elena looked at Liz and a tear almost went down her face

"Uhhu, hey. I compelled you to save her unless you want me to gouge your eyes out, keep working. Here" Damon said and grabbed the defibrillator.

"I've done all that I can do. She's gone... I'm sorry"

"Get out of here. Forget you're a total failure" Damon compelled him.

The doctor walked out and we all stood there not knowing how to tell Caroline

"No. No. No, I will not let this happen" Elena said and started do cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Liz again.

"Wake up" Elena said being stubborn

I stood behind them and held a hand over the mouth as my tears fell down on my cheeks.

Damon slowly placed his hand on Elena's back
"hey, she's gone"

"Come on"  Elena said refusing to let go.

I heard footsteps and saw Caroline in the doorway

I looked at her with sad eyes and she looked at her mom as Stefan then came behind her.

"No. No. No" Caroline said running to Liz

Elena moved away and Caroline bent down to Liz. "Mom. Mom. Mom. Mommy! No! Mom" She said trying to wake her up.

"Don't leave me. Please. Please" she said breaking down

Liz then woke up "mom?" Care said surprised.

"It's okay. I'm right here" Liz said taking her hand in Caroline's face

Caroline laid down her head beside her moms.

"It's okay. I'm right here" Liz said again and Caroline kept crying

Elena then looked like she would faint or throw up and then walked out. Damon ran after her.

Me and Stefan stood there and looked at Caroline.

"We're gonna let you two talk alone" Stefan says as we walked out of the room

We sat down outside of the room and I felt so tired and exhausted after that. It was so traumatic to see.

"So how long was she gone for?" Stefan asked under his breath

"I don't know. I saw Damon running around so I followed him in to Liz room where we found Elena trying to wake her up. I think she actually was gone a long time" I said

Stefan nodded and looked down.

"But, why did she go and just leave? Her mom was dying and she just left" I said

"Yeah, she was in a flower store wanting to buy her moms favorite flowers"

"And you made her come back and realize what really matters" I cut in

"You could say that but I'm not the hero in this" he shake his head.

"Well, I know it was like that. You always gets people to realize the good instead of the bad in situations"

He slightly smiled at me.

"Stefan, I think you actually should get in there. Caroline needs you" I said and pointed with my head

He squinted his eyes at me in confusion.

"Do what you want but I'm gonna go and I hope you be there d for her now that she really needs you" I said and stood up.

I walked away and out of the hospital to sit down on a bench and just get some fresh air

I sat there and just took in the cold air touching my lungs.
