Recently, my apartment building caught fire. So I stayed with a friend until all the damages were repaired. But what I didn't expect is for my landlord to raise my rent. Like, to the point where there was no way I could live there. So here I am, standing on the porch of my brother's friend's house.

I sigh and knock on the door.

A little girl opens the door, "who are you?"

I use what Joey has told me about the girls and figure out it's Stephanie, "I'm Y/n, Joey's sister. Is he home?"

"Yeah, come on in," she moves out of the doorway, "Joey!!"

I chuckle and walk in, closing the door behind me. A couple seconds later, Stephanie comes back in with Joey.

Joey's face is full of surprise, "Y/n? What are you doing here?"

I walk over and give him a hug, "I'll tell you after, is Danny here? I need to ask him something."

Stephanie runs upstairs, "Daddy!!"

Not long after, Danny comes downstairs.

His face looked just like Joey's when he saw me, "Y/n? It's been forever since I last saw you."

"Hi Danny," I pull Danny into a hug.

Danny pulls out of the hug, "Why are you here?"

"I have a huge favor to ask," I sigh

Danny leads us to the couch where he, Joey and I sit.

"Well," I start, "Recently my apartment building caught fire. So I stayed with a friend until the repairs were done. But my landlord raised the rent and it's way too expensive. So I was wondering, could I stay here until I can get back on my feet?"

Joey sighs, "Y/n, why didn't you tell me?"

"I was stable and okay but the friend I was staying with is moving back to tennessee," I explain

Danny puts an arm around my shoulder, "You are always welcome here. Stay as long as you need to."

"Really? Thank you Danny. This means so much, your the best," I hug him

"Wait Y/n," Joey pauses, "What about all your stuff?"

"The majority of it couldn't be saved. Everything I could save is in my car," I answer

Joey nodded his head. I was about to say something but I heard someone coming down the stairs. I look behind me and see the handsomest man I've ever seen. I go through the people Joey has told me about that live here and process that it's Jesse.

"Danny, where did-" He cuts himself off as we make eye contact, "Have mercy."

"Jesse, this is my sister, Y/n," Joey introduces

I stand up and shake his hand, "Hi."

Jesse takes my hand and kisses the back of it, "Hi. I'm Danny's brother in law."

"It's nice to put a face to the name," I say

"So Joey talks about me, all good things I hope," Jesse smirks

"Definitely," I say

"Jesse," Danny gets his attention, "Y/n will be staying with us for a while."

"You gotta be kidding, huh?" Jesse says
