We were on a case in Houston, and I've noticed some things about Reid. Ever since he was kidnapped and tortured by Tobias Hankle, he's been acting weirdly. Obviously, he wouldn't go back to normal, that was probably really traumatic for him but it's more than that. He's been easily irritated, on edge, jumpy, snappy, zoning out, sneaking off to the bathroom... he just hasn't been himself and it's starting to worry me. But I know these signs, one of my old friends Matt was a drug addict and I saw all of these signs in him.

I figured I was just overthinking it so I let it slide but still kept a close eye on Reid.

Reid, Prentiss and I got sent to a local shelter to see if we could find any leads. When we get there, we see a bunch of homeless people throughout the big room.

I go up to a staff member, "Hi, could I speak to someone who's in charge of this shelter?"
The staff member nodded and walked away then a few minutes later a lady comes over, "You all are looking for someone in charge? I'm Angie, one of the administrators."

Prentiss shakes her hand, "Hi, I'm Agent Prentiss. This is Agent Reid and Y/L/N. We're with the FBI."

Angie's eyes widen, "Really?"
Reid raises his eyebrows, "Really."
"It looks like you have your hands full," I say

"With the demolitions in the projects and the abandoned buildings, there's no place else for people to sleep," Angie says

"Well, thank god there are people like you who take the time-" Prentiss starts but Reid cuts her off, "Do you have a list of everyone who comes through here?"
Angie speaks, "Uh, we have a sign-in sheet, but we don't force anyone to sign if they don't want to. Some people who do sign in, don't even use their real names. But someone named Elvis eats here a lot."
"We would appreciate any lists you have," I say

"Why?" Angie asks

"Have you noticed anyone who acts unusually aggressive towards the other residents?" Reid asks
"What's this about?" Angie asks
"A series of murders in the area. The perpetrator may be a homeless man. Maybe someone who stays here. He may even be in this room as we speak." Reid answers
"My god, Reid," Prentiss says
"Have you noticed anyone who acts paranoid or displays explosive, unprovoked bursts of violence, more than just pushing and shoving? I mean, someone who really tries to harm others," Reid asks
"There are territorial fights over food and places to sleep. The nurse treats people for minor injuries all the time, but no one's seriously hurt.
"If anyone does come to mind, give us a call," Prentiss says, "Thank you."
"A murderer?" Angie asks

"Uh- Um This investigation is still. No one's actually been hurt in a shelter. We're just, we're acting with an abundance of caution," I explain, ". So, please, let the police know if anything unusual occurs. Thanks."

As we walk out of the shelter, Reid speaks, "There's a high presence of mental disorders with the homeless."
"Yeah," Prentiss says before she stops walking and looks at Reid, "What the hell was that in there?"
"What?" Reid asks
" "He may even be in this room as we speak"? We have nothing to support that," Prentiss says
"We're investigating a serial homicide. Should I have pretended there's no danger?" Reid says
"Spencer, we just left that woman potentially afraid of every man who walks into this shelter," I say
"Again, until we find this unsub, how is that a bad thing?" Reid says
"What is the matter with you?" Prentiss asks
"What do you mean, what's the matter with me?" Reid asks
"I have never seen you act like this," Prentiss says
"Oh, really? Oh, in the months that you know me, You've never seen me act this way?" Reid argues, "Hey, no offense, Emily, but you don't really know what you're talking about, do you?"
"Spencer," I say as he walks to the car
We go back to the station and fill the others in on what we found out.
