Scarlett's Light

THE HYBRID

Elena and Scarlett are in the mountains. Scarlett is carrying Ray's body over her shoulder

Elena: Is Ray getting heavy, babe?

Scarlett: I'm fine, Love

Elena: You sure about that? I think I hear you breathing heavily. You sure you're not getting tired?

Scarlett: Oh shut up.

Elena: Aw is my baby getting tired?

Scarlett: Stop talking, Little Wolf.

Elena: Well I am. We've been looking for werewolves all summer

Scarlett: Well thanks to Ray, we found ourselves a pack. Here.

They stop. They found the pack's camp. Elena enters their camp. Everyone looks at her. Scarlett enters and throws Ray's body on the ground

Woman: Ray! Oh, my God. What's going on? Who are you?

Scarlett The important question is who am I. Please forgive the intrusion. My name is Scarlett

Woman: You're the hybrid.

Scarlett: You've heard of me. Fantastic.

LATER

Elena is perching up on Scarlett's lap.

Scarlett: It's fascinating, actually...A werewolf who isn't beholden to the moon, a vampire who doesn't burn in the sun. A true hybrid.

Ray wakes up.

Scarlett: Excellent timing, Ray. Very dramatic.

Ray: What's happening to me?

Scarlett lifts Elena off her lap placing her down on the log, Elena pouts folding her arms across her chest.

Scarlett: Are any of you human? Your friend here needs human blood to complete his transition to vampire. If he doesn't get it, he will die.

She looks at a man

Scarlett: You!

She rushes over to him and bites his forearm and grabs him, throws him on the ground in front of Ray.

Scarlett: It's the new order, love. You join us, or you die.

Elena tilts her head down growling in jealousy

Woman: I'd rather die than be a vampire.

Scarlett: Wrong choice.

She gives her the girl her blood. Ray drinks the blood from the man.

Scarlett: She'll thank me for that later. Heh.

She twists her head and kills her.

Scarlett: Okay, who's next?

Her eyes are yellow and fangs are showing.

LATER

Ray is sitting on a rock nearby, grabbing his body and shivering.

Ray: They're dead. They're all dead.

Scarlett Ah, he's through his transition. He should be feeling better soon.

Elena: So is this your master plan? Build an army of hybrid slaves?

Scarlett: No, not slaves. Soldiers, comrades.

Elena: For what war, might I ask?

Scarlett: Oh, you don't arm yourself after war has been declared, Love. You build your army so big that no one ever dares pick a fight.

Elena: What makes you so sure that they'll be loyal?

Scarlett: Well, it's not difficult to be loyal when you're on the winning team. That's something you'll learn once you shake that horribly depressive chip off your shoulder.

Elena: No!

Scarlett looks at her confused

Scarlett: What?

Elena: Don't force them into this, Scar. Give them a choice in this. That way you'll have their loyalty because you let them choose. If you force them then they're gonna hate you.

She grabs her hands placing them on her chest staring into her eyes

Elena: Please? For me?

Scarlett sighs slowly nodding her head

Scarlett: For you, I'll give them a choice after tonight. I promise

She presses her lips to her forehead.

She looks at Ray, sits next to him, and examines his face. Ray's eyes are bleeding.

Scarlett: Something's wrong

Elena: That shouldn't be happening, right?

Scarlett: Well duh.

The woman wakes up.

Scarlett: Derek, come feed your girlfriend.

He gets up. Ray snarls and makes a few jumps and leaves. She looks at Elena

Elena: Go. I'll be fine when I turn.

Scarlett nods and vamp speeds after Ray. Elena sighs and lifts her shirt over her head and unclips her bra before getting on all fours and begins to shift.

LATER

Elena is in her wolf form sitting on one of the logs as the pack are staggering around the camp, their eyes bleeding.

Scarlett walks back to camp back with Ray over her shoulders. The rest of the pack are lying on the ground dead. She throws Ray on the ground

Scarlett: [Screaming.] I did everything I was told! [Regaining her composure.] I should be able to turn them. I broke the curse. I killed a werewolf. I killed a vampire. I---

She looks at Elena's wolf who is wagging her tail motioning with her head for her to follow her. Scarlett smiles

Scarlett: Of course Love

She takes off her clothes and gets on all fours and shifts, their wolves runs into the dark woods side by side.

LATER

Elena in her wolf form is sitting at the edge of a cliff looking up at the full moon when Scarlett's black wolf walks up to her side.

Elena's white wolf nuzzles her snout against Scarlett's. Scarlett licks her mate's nose and they howl up at the moon loudly.
