They turned their heads to the open doors of the cabin. "What was that?" Ophelia asked.

Adela slowly stood up. She saw people running. "Shit!" She swore and ran over to her bed. She lifted the mattress up and pulled out her golden sword. She ran over to Ophelia and grabbed the girls shoulders.

"Ophelia. Listen to me." She said. Ophelia looked from the doors to the girls face. "I need you to stay in here where it's safe. Go the the back of the cabin and sit down." She explained.

She then gave the girl a small push and she ran to the back. She told the others in the cabin to do the same as Ophelia did.

"Everyone, go to the back and sit down. I don't know what's happen but I'm going to figure it out. Stay here." She said and ran out.

She shouted at the other kids to run away.

Adela noticed Kayla and ran to the girl. She grabbed the girls arm and she screamed. "It's me. Kayla, what's going on?" She quickly asked.

She's never seen the girl so frightened. "I was in the infirmary and I heard a noise. It was growling. I walked out and saw a hellhound. I screamed and ran away." She said.

"Go back to our cabin. The others are hiding in there. If you can, get as many kids as you can and close the doors." She said and Kayla nodded.

"Be careful." She said and Adela nodded. The girl ran away and Adela kept her eyes on her until she was out of her eye-line.

How did a hellhound get inside camp?

Adela ran to where the others were. They were trying to fight it off. She noticed Luke on the other side of it. "Luke!" She screamed.

He must have heard her and looked over. "Adela! Run!" He shouted back. She didn't notice the monster turned to her and it was too late.

All Adela saw was red eyes and then she was knocked to the ground. She looked up to see the same eyes staring at her.

She felt the dirt around her until she found a cold piece of metal. She used all her strength and swiped at it.

The monster screeched and stepped back. It was enough time for her to get up. The monster retaliated and ran to her again and swiped his claws at her. They slashed across her face and she fell to the ground, again.

"No!" She heard someone shout.

Adela couldn't keep her eyes open. Her vision started to blur. She couldn't breathe, air barely filling her lungs. She felt so much blood running down her face.

She heard a loud noise and then silence.

She felt someone hands on her neck. She opened her eyes to see a boy. She could barely see them but she knew it was Luke.

"Baby, can you hear me?" He asked her, panic in his voice. "I'm tired." Was all she could say and then everything turned black.

Adela woke up a few hours later in the infirmary. She opened her eyes to see Luke sitting in a chair next to her bed. He was holding her hand. She squeezed his hand and he looked at her.

He sighed in relief.

"What happened?" She asked him.

"There was an attack. Someone in the camp summoned a hellhoud. Multiple campers were injured. You had it worst." He explained.

Adela tightly closed her eyes. "I told the kids to run and go to my cabin. I should've done more. I should have made sure everyone was safe." She said, almost on the verge of tears.

Luke got up from his seat and kneeled at the side of her bed. "Hey, hey, hey. Don't blame yourself. It wasn't your fault. You probably saved lives by telling them to go." He reassured her.

"But it's my fault that you got hurt. I wasn't there to protect you. I promised I would and I failed." He said. She looked back at him.

"You can't blame yourself either. I know you want to protect me, but things happen. That happened. I thought I'd be able to fight it but I wasn't strong enough." She said.

"The gods are fighting." He said, changing the subject. "A war. Between Zeus and Poseidon." Luke said.

Adela sat up. "What?"

"People are choosing sides on which god they believe in. The kids are fighting each other."

"How long has this been happening?"

"Since the attack. Less than an hour. Word got out shortly after. Chiron had to stop a few fights. The kids are scared." Luke said.

"Everything is going to shit." She said and Luke chuckled. "Yeah, it has been for the past week."

"How are you feeling?" He asked her. She paused before speaking. "Surprisingly good, I mean for being attacked. I can feel my body healing extraordinarily fast." She replied.

"That's good. The wounds on your face are healing but slowly. Ophelia was in here earlier and gave you something for the pain." He said.

"Was she okay?" She asked him.

He took a deep breath and let it out. "She's fine. She's not hurt, just a little shaken but she's alright. I made sure of it. After I got you here I went straight to her. I found at least twelve kids hiding in cabin 7." Luke said.

"I told Kayla to round up as many people she could. She did good." She said.

"She did. I made sure her and Ophelia were safe. I know how much you care about them." He said. Adela smiled at him. "Thank you, Luke. I appreciate your help. Taking down the hellhound and making sure my family was safe."

He smiled at her and kissed her hand.

"When I find out who summoned the monster. I will come for them and I will kill them. I don't care who it is or what trouble I get into. Nobody messes with the ones I care about." Adela said, looking at Luke.

She was too angry to notice the change in his expression and the rising of his heartbeat.

Adela also didn't notice that one thing was missing when she woke up.

Her necklace.

She didn't know that it contained power.

But Luke did.

Authors note:

Girl, I hate to break it to you but...

Anyways, I'm so excited for the last
episode. I really hope the ending with
Luke is almost the same as it is in the
book.

I know they'll change it but still. I hope
they do it right. I'm so happy with the
adaptation as is, I can't wait.

2 more episodes.

As always, thanks for reading and the votes!
