Munira's POV
After that moment with sadiya she didn't show up again.She tried to put on a facade that she didn't like me.

I met her at the mosque.We prayed in silence.After prayers I was trying to get up when I nearly fell, because I couldn't balance.

She held me up.
Sadiya :are you okay?
Munira:yes,thank you.

We came out together,we ran into Dean who was waiting outside for me.I didn't miss the glint in his eyes when he saw sadiya.She noticed.

Sadiya: don't you know that it is immoral,to stare at a woman like that.
Hakim: it's not immoral if it's a divorecee.
(We turned to see hakim and his friends)

Munira: what do you mean by that?
Hakim:I divoreced sadiya three months ago,because she is not woman enough to be with me.her being divorced is proof of it .

Munira:so what's her status now?
Hakim:she might as well be a prostitute.

(I slapped him hard as I heard sadiya's silent sobs.The slap called attention towards us,so I decided to take advantage)

Munira:you are all here, wondering why l slapped him?he has the guts to tell his ex wife to become a prostitute because nobody would want her a divorcee.
(They gasped, hypocrites)

Munira: don't gasp,you do worse to divorced women,you treat then as if they are worthless, and second hand goods.You think a woman's value is based on marraige?you are wrong.Women can be so many things,you just choose to ignore it, because of your patriarchy.If Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) was like this,no woman would be working or supporting her husband.

No woman would be treated with respect,we would be treated like some sex toys.But have you ever Wondered that, disrespecting women means disrespecting Allah's creation?he created us to worship him and dwell with you ,but you choose to make us your personal slaves

You dare call your self a Muslim?You dare try to imitate the Sunnah and Hadith.The same Hadith that says"the best amongst you ,are the ones who are best to their wives, and I am the best amongst you"

Be wise for goodness sake.Being Muslim doesn't onlymean, praying the salat and giving of alms,it's also about being kind to people, especially your wives, your daughters and your mothers.Sisters , aunt, grandparents.All your relatives, including your women.

This society is weak because you have allowed your cultural practices to dominate our religious practices.Shame on you all.I Am married to ganster and am not ashamed because he has goodness in his heart.I am more blessed that he wants to learn about Islam.I am the Don's Muslim wife and I am proud.

(Sadiya held me by the shoulder)
Sadiya: and I am a proud divorcee,it's better to be divorced than be a slave to a man,I am only a slave to Allah.There is difference between wife and a slave, and it is love and respect.I am glad ,I asked for a divorce from you .I know my worth.
