Not so bad after all, right?

"I'm starting to regret this." I say, heaving a heavy sigh as I take one last look at myself in the body length mirror before averting my attention to the woman beside me.

"Dont start now! They'll be here any second now." The woman known as not only my roommate but also my closest friend responds with a tone of annoyance layering her voice.

"I can't help it- the dude literally confessed to having feelings for you." Kazuha turns on her heels to face me fully, reaching out, she presses her hands against the surface of my black velvet dress- straightening the material out before she speaks "Heeseung is nothing more than a friend to me. He knows that and you know that."

Trapping my bottom lip between my teeth, I nod at her words. "Tonight is going to go well, I promise." Kazuha speaks for a second time and as much as I tried to play it cool, I couldn't.

"Just don't leave us alone, please?" I beg, pouting a little as the woman simply rolls her eyes at my request. Without another second to beg, the doorbell catches us off guard as Kazuha squeals "They're here!" Excitement replacing the annoyance in her voice as she pushes me to get the door.

Just as the door swings open, all eyes are on Kazuha- both Jay's and Heeseung's. "You look-k beautiful!" Heeseung breaks the ice. I rock back and forth on my heels as I take a quick glance at Kazuha- waiting for her reaction to the man's compliment.

"You both do!" Jay pipes as Kazuha nods in agreement. Gesturing over to me, my dearest friend speaks "This is Y/n, your date for tonight."

It's only then Heeseung finally realizes that I- his date for the night had been standing next to the love of his love the entire time. He closes his eyes for a brief second, running a hand through his jet black hair and right then, I wished that the ground could open up and swallow me whole.

"These are for you!" Jay pipes as he pulls a bouquet of red roses from behind his back, handing them over to the woman in front of him. She held the biggest smile on her face, accepting the thoughtful gift as Jay mirrors her expression- clearly impressed with himself.

I couldn't hold back my smile as I look between the two, clearly in love but that same smile falters when I take a quick glance at my date for the night.

Heeseung stood with his heart in his hands, chest heaving heavily as he gulps a few times. His Adam's apple bobs a few times and I couldn't help but to pity the soul who stood desperately in front of me.

"Okay lovebirds! Let's get going before I change my mind!" I say loudly as I tug at Heeseung's jacket, hooking my hand in his.

Heeseung's eyes are wide at my actions, surprised with how bold I was and when he made an attempt to push me away- hoping that Kazuha didn't notice, I held on even tighter- not caring if she did.

The rest of the night went by pretty quickly, not the best but pretty quickly. The four of us sat at our table, ordered dinner, had dinner, chatted over dinner and throughout the entire night, Heeseung's Bambi eyes were captured by Kazuha's presence.

Though it was a double date, it felt as if I was the third wheel- the one left out of everything and that only made me wish to reach home faster so as soon as Heeseung settled the bill, we left.

It's the least he could do, right?!

"That was lovely!" Kazuha cooes as she intertwines her fingers with her boyfriend's. Resting her head on his shoulder, she lets out "We should do this again! I had so much fun!"

At least one of us did, right?!

"Oh, would you mind taking Y/n back home? Jay and I have other plans." Kazuha questions as she looks over in Heeseung's direction. The man nods at her words, gaining some sort of self satisfaction when she spoke to him.

Rolling my eye at that, I bid the happy couple goodbye as Heeseung and I made our way over to his vehicle. The man opens the door for me to enter and so I did without even looking at him.

I rest my head against the window of the car as silence fills the air for the entire ride. By the time we arrive in front of the familiar apartment, I open the door- ready to sprint for it. Unfortunately, Heeseung was finally ready to talk.

"Can I ask a favor?" Heeseung speaks as he grabs my hand in a swift motion. Snapping my head in his direction, as much as I wanted to say no, I couldn't help but to pity the man facing me.

I had no clue how heart rending it could be to love someone who doesn't reciprocate those feelings. So, without thinking further, I say "Only if you can promise me one thing." The man before me is quick to nod at my words not knowing what would hit him next.

Looking him directly in his eyes, I say "Promise me that you'll be happy for yourself someday." Heeseung's grip on my wrist loosens unconsciously as I continue "I have no idea what happened between you and Kazuha but it was kind of pathetic seeing how you acted- even with her boyfriend there."

Heeseung's Bambi eyes are wide at my words and I simply let out "It was really obvious."

The man lets go of my wrist completely, running a hand through his hair in frustration for the second time tonight as he speaks "I don't know what to do at this point- I can't help it."

I could tell from the way he buried his face in the palm of his hands that he was definitely having a hard time so trying to help in any way I can, I offer "You know what? I think I have some Soju inside, would you like to come in for a drink?"

For the first time tonight, Heeseung- my date actually smiles over in my direction and before we know it, we're already devouring shot after shot as the man confides in me.

Half hour later, Heeseung's switches the television on, starting a karaoke session as he made himself comfortable. Holding the remote control up to his lips, the man begins to belt out lyrics, signaling for me to join him.

The smile on his face grew wider as I stood beside him- mirroring his silly actions. I actually had the opportunity to witness my date laughing. To say that I was surprised would be an understatement.

Just as the dance break of standing next to you comes around, I say over the loud music "Happiness looks good on you."

The smile on my face was replaced by pure shock as Heeseung wasted no time, leaning down to my figure, pressing his pink lips against mine.

Frozen in my spot, the music blares through the walls as Heeseung pulls away from me slightly. My eyes are wide as the man slowly catches his breath, resting his head against my forehead, he lets out "I love you, Kazuha."
