chapter 22

Elysia slowly approaches Luna who seemed distracted by what Raven was doing

"Luna!" Elysia exclaimed, a tight smile spreading across her face. "I've been searching for you. I have something important to ask."

Luna stepped closer, her curiosity piqued. "What is it, Elysia? "

Elysia took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. "You saw me defeat the monster with a different magic yes?"

Luna nods, "Yes I did, I've been meaning to ask but I didn't want to intrude, is something wrong"

"No nothing is wrong"
Elysia us quick to reply

"It's just that, I need to fully embrace that power and in order to do that , I need the help of that guy"

She points towards Zephyr who was watching them like a hawk, his face devoid of any emotions

Luna's eyes widened with anticipation. "That sounds incredible, Elysia. But why do you tell me?

Elysia reached out and took Luna's hand, her voice filled with sincerity. "Because, Luna, you are my  first friend and I would love for you to come with me, but that's only a decision you can make"

Luna's face lit up with a mixture of excitement and hesitation. "Elysia, I am honored by your invitation. But before I make my decision, I need to know more.  What awaits us on this journey?"

Elysia nodded, understanding Luna's need for knowledge. "I promise, Luna, that when the time is right, I will reveal everything to you. But I want you to have the freedom to choose, to decide if this path is one you wish to tread alongside me."

Luna squeezed Elysia's hand, a smile playing on her lips. "Elysia, you have been a good friend in the short time we've known each other. And you know me"

She grins ridiculously

"I love adventures and If this journey is as extraordinary as you say, then I want to be a part of it. I have nothing that awaits me here"

Elysia's heart swelled with joy. She had found a kindred spirit in Luna, a friend who shared her thirst for exploration and discovery.

They both walk towards Zephyr, their minds made up.

"Alright, what's our next step"
Elysia asks Zephyr

Flashing them a mischievous grin, he replied "our next step is to fill our belly, follow me"

Flashing him a curious smile, Elysia beckoned Luna to follow while Raven flew overhead

As they entered the desolate streets, Elysia and Luna couldn't help but notice the tension that hung in the air, a palpable sense of unease that had become all too familiar in these troubled times.

Finally, they found a small, humble tavern tucked away in a quiet corner of the kingdom.

As they entered, the low murmur of conversation and the clinking of glasses filled the air. It was a stark contrast to the silence that enveloped the rest of the kingdom.

Zephyr took the lead, approaching the tavern keeper to arrange for a meal. With a reassuring smile, he paid for their provisions.

The cozy establishment exuded warmth and cheer, and the savory scent of roasted meats wafted from within. As they settled at a wooden table, their food quickly placed on it

Elysia couldn't help but hum in satisfaction as she savored the delicious meal in the cozy tavern. Her taste buds danced with delight, reveling in the rich flavors and hearty textures of the food. It had been a while  since she's had the luxury of such food.

The warm, comforting aroma of the stew filled the air, and Elysia's spirits soared with each delightful bite.

Elysia closed her eyes for a moment, savoring the blissful sensation of contentment that enveloped her. This simple but satisfying meal was a welcome respite from the trials of their journey, and she cherished every moment of it.
