The early morning sunlight filters through the window blinds, casting a warm glow over my small apartment in the heart of New York City.

The alarm blares, shattering the tranquility of my dreams, dragging me reluctantly back to reality. I groan, reaching out to silence the persistent beeping, my hand fumbling for the off button in the darkness of my room. With a heavy sigh, I force myself to sit up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes as I blink away the remnants of my dreams.

Another day in the city that never sleeps.

With a heavy sigh, I force myself to sit up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes as I blink away the remnants of my dreams. It's 7 am and I don't usually wake up this early but now I'm adulting, things are changing.

Running my fingers through my long, straight black hair, I can't help but smile as I remember how it shines brown in the sunlight, a reminder of my roots back in Bangalore. It's moments like these that make me feel connected to both my past and my present, a bridge between two worlds.

Dragging myself to the bathroom, I splash cold water on my face, hoping to shake off the remnants of sleep that cling to my mind like cobwebs. The mirror reflects back a tired face, dark circles under my eyes betraying the restless night I spent tossing and turning.

But there's no time to dwell on exhaustion now. Today is no ordinary day. Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my career as an event manager, tasked with orchestrating the wedding of a lifetime in the heart of the Big Apple.

As I shuffle into the kitchen, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee beckons me, promising a jolt of caffeine to kickstart my day. I pour myself a mug, savoring the rich, comforting taste as it fills me with a sense of purpose.

I'm running late, as usual. With a resigned sigh, I hurry to the bathroom for a lightning-fast shower, the warm water barely enough to rouse me from my grogginess. There's no time for a leisurely breakfast, so I settle for a quick bowl of oats while watching my fav show on TV in my living room because I can't eat without entertainment, cursing my perpetually hectic schedule.

Dressed in a flowing indigo skirt and a crisp white top, adorned with silver jewelry and jhumkas that glint in the morning light, I feel a surge of confidence. The outfit is a nod to my South Indian heritage, a subtle reminder of the vibrant culture that courses through my veins. With my long black-brown hair cascading down my back.

I retreat to my bedroom and grab my phone, a smile tugging at my lips as I see a notification from Adira and Dhrithi, my two best friends back in Bangalore. They've been my rock throughout this whirlwind journey, supporting me from afar as I navigate the challenges of my new life in New York.

I dial their numbers and wait eagerly as the screen lights up with their familiar faces. "Hey, Ira! Hey, Ritzie!" I exclaim, excitement bubbling in my voice. "Guess what? Today's the big day!"

Adira's eyes widen with excitement, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders as she leans closer to the screen. "No way! You're finally putting your event management skills to the test in the Big Apple?"

I nod, unable to contain my grin. "That's right! It's a huge opportunity, and I couldn't be more thrilled. But I couldn't start the day without seeing my two favorite faces."

Dhrithi, or Ritzie as we affectionately call her, chimes in with her signature enthusiasm. "You're going to knock it out of the park, Evie bear! We're so proud of you."
