JUNGKOOK POV

I stared at the man on the cot
in complete and total shock.

Then I scooped up the tiny wolf.

"Who is this, Jin?"

"I mean, I know he's your
friend but what else is he?" I asked, tucking the little one closer to me.

Humans couldn't be trusted.

Especially not with an innocent cub.

"Who am I?" The man on the
cot—the father of the missing child apparently demanded
to know.

"Who are you? Why are you holding a wild animal?"

"And what do you mean you were looking for a cub? My
kid is not a cub."

He was human, no doubt.

Scented like nothing but
human as far as I could tell
but damn it, he was gorgeous and called to the baser side
of me.

My wolf wanted me to shift
right there and sniff him out further.

Sit at his feet and feel his
skin against me.

Sometimes, my wolf was an idiot.

Preening for a human.

Ridiculous.

"How is this your son?"

"What do you mean, how is
this my son?"

"I made him with my wife and she gave birth to him."

"She's passed on now but
this is no doubt my son."

"But why...oh, gods, I'm
losing my shit."

"How can my son be a wolf
cub?"

"You're not losing your shit."

"I mean, you might be."

"You didn't know your wife
was a shifter?"

Because clearly, he had no
idea about us.

Or his son.

"My wife was a...a what?"

I couldn't help it.

I rolled my eyes and looked
to Jin for some kind of
moral support.

"This is your son."

"He scents the same as you."

"I found him in the woods in
his wolf form."

"Either your wife was a shifter
or this isn't your son, though
you think he is."

"He does have your green
eyes though."

I looked down at the little guy who was wrestling with his
wolf while in my hold.

The first shift usually lasted a while but my wolf felt him coming out of it quickly.
