JIMIN POV

"I'll help." I started to stack
the very empty dishes.

I was going to need to work doubles if this continued. Shit.

I needed to call in.

"Let me call work first."

"Tell them you are out for the week." Jungkook just told me what to do, like he had a say.

And I...I didn't hate it.

It was like he gave me permission to do what I knew was right.

Except I also needed to pay
bills. Story of my life.

"About that..." I took a deep breath.

This was hard admitting I
might not be able to provide
for my son was damn hard.

"When I got the call about
Dalsu, I was in a meeting and let's just say my job might
not be around long."

"I need the hours now
before lllit sells."

"Someone is buying it?"

"Not yet but still."

"I need to work."

I dialed into work as he just stared at me almost as if he
were trying to figure me out.

"I have to." I lowered my
voice as the first ring began.

"Two days." He held up his fingers as the voice mail engaged.

"At least two days." He compromised. Huh.

"This is Jimin, Sorry about running off yesterday."

"They found Dalsu and he's
okay but I fell and have a concussion, so I won't be in
for a couple of days."

"I'll see about finding people
to take my shifts."

"I'll call back to let you know who." I hung up and set the phone on the table.

"Thank you." He went back to clearing the dishes and I shot
off a bunch of texts, looking
for people to cover my shifts.

Thankfully, people wanted
them and at least I wouldn't
be getting fired.

Finding ways to compensate
for the lost income in my
budget was another thing.

I'd deal with that later.

"It wasn't ideal."

Except it was.

Calling in for two days was something I'd never done.

I needed to though.

And really, how much longer
was I going to be able to work?

Only as long as it took me to figure out what to do and I
had a feeling that time was
not on my side.

I stood up and hobbled to the sink, I could at least wash the dishes.

That didn't require too much moving.

"I have a dishwasher."

"Okay." Why were things suddenly so awkward?

"Jin will take good care of
Dalsu but I thought you were going to train him."

Hadn't that been what Joon
had said?

"Yeah I am."

"He isn't the only newly
shifting pup, either." He
opened the dishwasher and started to stack the dishes in.
