JUNGKOOK POV

We'd been home a while before
I could convince Jimin to leave
Dalsu with Jin and come out
with me on a run.

We'd been away at Ari's pack
for not only those sixty-plus hours but the two more days
it took before Jimin could even be upright long enough to be
put in a car and bring home.

Especially since that
"motherly" woman who had
been Ari's nanny or mentor
or both had suggested that
while we'd been there long enough to suit her...she was
the only one who could save
him if he relapsed.

So by the time we got home,
Jimin had spent the longest
time by far away from our son
in his life and had no desire
to let him out of his sight.

I could maybe have pulled something off during the day while dalsu was at school—at least he'd let him go there
but silly me, I wanted to be romantic.

To get him out under the moon where our wolves could play together and frolic and be silly and all those sorts of things.

So when he looked out the window on that nearly full-
moon night and said, "Wouldn't
a walk in the woods be nice?"

I didn't hesitate.

I leapt to my feet, ran to dal's room and bundled him in a blanket then tore off to Jin
and Joon's hollering.

"I'll be back in five minutes."

I pounded on their door,
hoping that my friend and my alpha would be awake and not refuse my request but Jin
came to the door holding a phone and laughing.

Joon was behind him.

"He's here, Jimin."

"We'll keep your son over
night."

"You two need alone time."

"Us, no, no."

"We were just having a cup
of coffee and talking."

The look our alpha gave him
and the fact he was not
wearing a shirt and his jeans were misbuttoned—who knew you could even do that—told
me different but I was so
anxious to get out and run
with my omega, I was willing
to face his wrath later.

Besides, Dalsu was used
to living in a house with a
couple and he was barely
even stirring.

If they tucked him into a guest bed and went in their room—
I wasn't the romance police.

Back at home, I found my
omega on the porch, naked.

And not at all ashamed of
the slight bulge of his belly.

The moonlight was kind to
him, highlighting how well his
leg had healed.

I couldn't see any difference between the two sides and he stood straight, weight evenly distributed.

"Hey, kookie."

"Want to go for a run?"

And before I could finish admiring his human shape,
his wolf stood before me,
white, furry and strong and
every bit as beautiful to my
eyes.
