JUNGKOOK POV

It wasn't too hard to maintain
my cool on the way back to
pack lands.

Having Dalsu or Dal in the car with us kept the focus on the new wolf and all his questions.

His dad seemed willing to
listen and learn what I could teach him.

I'd meant what I said about
the anatomical component
of shifting.

Our healer understood it better than almost anyone and I honestly didn't need to know.

I wasn't half the scientist
this little guy already was.

But he'd find good company among our pack where there were plenty who shared his interests.

And as little as he was, he seemed beyond his years in knowledge.

He spoke like a small adult.

How comfortable had he been
at his school where they
probably spoke pretty close to baby talk to children his age.

"Dalsu, do you like to read?"

"Not baby books."

"I like to read about nature
and robots, dinosaurs not cartoon ones."

"So nonfiction?"

I arched a brow at his dad
in the passenger seat.

He nodded. "He really loves to read about how things work."

"Biographies too."

"He's pretty advanced, isn't
he?"

"I'm right here." He protested from the booster in the back seat.

"And yeah, I like to read
about people."

"Especially people who
discover stuff."

"The alpha has a pretty big library."

"Maybe if you ask nicely and
be very respectful, he'll let
you borrow a book."

Even in the rear-view mirror
I could see the sparkle in his
eye as he kicked the back of
his dad's seat like an actual
kid his age.

"I will be very nice."

"And respectful." Jimin
coached.

"I think I have to be that." He
fell silent for a moment then added.

"It's the way of the wolf."

We didn't laugh, I swear.

But it wasn't easy.

I drove to my home and
showed my guests to their
rooms then excused myself to check in with Joon regarding pack matters, especially regarding the pack who was about to arrive.

I did need to do so but I also needed to get out of the proximity of that sweet
human who made my wolf excited and my cock hard.

Waiting outside the alpha's office, I tried to ignore both of those things but it was hard.

I meant difficult.

Finally, Joon's door opened
and Jin emerged,
straightening his clothes.

I could suppress a groan.

"Are you kidding me?"

"With everything we need to
get done, you two lovebirds
had to grab a quickie?"

"Really?"

Jin turned to face me and
he flushed but only a little.

"Since when do you mind that Joon and I appreciate one another? I thought you were
our biggest cheerleader."
