Chapter XXIV : Cannot Forget

Inis na sinipa ko ang maliit at nananahimik na batong nadaanan ko sa hardin ng Akademya. It's been two days after the council received our last quest. The Village of Nagara is finally free from the monster and the stupid tradition. Natuklasan namin na kinokontrol pala ni Werna at iba pang kasabwat niya ang mga taga nayon upang hindi makapag aklas at umalis sa lugar ang mga ito. Werna and her people received a strong black magic from the Pirawa in exchange of sacrificing innocent ladies. This black magic didn't only enhance the ability they already have, it also mysteriously bends the ability to create a new set of skills. We found out about this when we learned Ashir's ability, the kid who told me about the monster. He showed me the unknown sparks in his palm, it looks electric but it can actually reach the sky. His electricity ability can be a deadly thunder if he wants to.

The academy decided to bring him in with us, kahit ang kapatid nito ay isinama rin namin. Both of them have the ability that is far more different than the rest of the students in Vern. His sister can manipulate the shadows but she still having a hard time using it and it's yet to be developed. We also learned that they're not originally from the village, their origin is unknown, that's why the academy wanted to have them.

Kaya naman ngayon ay sila ang pinaka bata ngunit pinaka malakas ring estudyante ng Vern. Everyone loves them and the students find them adorable.

"What are you doing here? Sage is looking for you," bumaling ako sa likuran ko nang marinig ang boses ni Portia. Bumaba sa kamay niyang may hawak na strawberry juice ang tingin ko. Mukhang naaadapt na nila ang pagkahilig ko sa strawberry ah.

"I don't want to see him," naiinis parin na sagot ko bago muling sinipa ang maliit na bato sa paanan ko. It's been two days since he asked me that ridiculous question.

Me? Will fight two women to become his queen? Is he nuts?

Ayaw niya pang sabihin sa akin kung sino ang dalawang 'yon at kung totoo bang may nakatakda na talagang ikasal sa kan'ya sa oras na maupo siya sa trono. He keeps smirking whenever I tried asking him about it, para bang natutuwa sa pagkainis ko.

"Why? Nag away nanaman ba kayo?" tanong ni Portia bago sumipsip sa straw.

"Hey Portia, I have something to ask."

"What is it?"

"Totoo bang may magiging reyna agad na nagaabang  ang bagong upong hari? Tell me the truth." Halos malukot na ang mukha ko dahil sa sobrang seryoso nito. Nakita kong natigilan si Portia at saglit akong tinitigan. Maya maya rin ang maliit itong ngumiti.

"Is that why you're pissed?" tanong niya na mahihimigan ang pang aasar. Umirap ako dahil pakiramdam ko ay pinagkaka isahan nila ako.

"Just tell me." Matulis ang nguso ko habang nasa ibang direksyon ang tingin.

Ang totoo ay gusto ko lamang malaman kung totoo bang may nakatakda nang ikasal kay Sage kapag siya na ang naupong hari ng Modroust. Gusto kong malaman dahil ayokong patagalin pa ang nararamdaman ko sa kan'ya tapos sa dulo ay maiiwan lamang ako mag isa. I know what I feel towards him is not an attraction anymore, maybe it's obsession because I want to own him. But there's something wrong in my heart that it felt like tiny little needles poking through when he said there's two damn women. I don't want to get another man who's going to be a dog of other women, just like Trence. I don't want to find myself again begging someone to be mine, though I never begged Trence, but it felt like that when I started tormenting Nelly. It is the only way I have to get his attention, no matter if it's ruining my image for him, I just wanted him to look at me the same way my Father did to my Mother's portrait. If I will stay in this body until I get wrinkles all over me, I will not spend every single day weeping for that damn king to love me back.
