Someone with soft hands placed their hands on my face when I slowly started to come to, and I bit back a small groan and wrinkled my nose, pursing my lips in annoyance.

The person moved their hands from my face and placed them on my shoulder. They started to shake my shoulder, trying to shake me awake.

I bit back a small groan of annoyance and tried to shove them off of me, but for some reason I couldn't move my arms and legs.

My whole body grew tense, and my eyes flew open with my heart skipping a beat before it started to pound faster and harder in my chest.

What the..?

Blurry figures filled my vision, and I couldn't help but start to blink rapidly to clear it.

What's going on..? Where am I?

I tried to sit up, but for some reason, my whole body seemed to have a mind of its own and didn't move.

What the fuck..?

What the hell is happening?

I blinked and blinked again, and my vision slowly became not as fuzzy, and I was able to see a figure kneeling over me, a figure that I had known a lifetime ago.

It worked...

"Katherine?" I heard one of them ask when my ears started to work again. Pain, nervousness, and happiness filled their voice while they stared at me, and I could tell that they wanted to see if I was alive. "Can you hear me? It's your uncle, Peter. Are you starting to wake up? Are you alive?"

I bit back a small groan and pressed my lips into a thin line while I grimaced. I closed my eyes again and tried to nod but couldn't.

The person stopped shaking me before they started to shake me again, and I had a feeling that they were wanting me to open my eyes again so that they could make sure that I was awake and alive.

"Katherine?" the person, Uncle Peter, asked again, and there was a small begging sound in his tone because I had closed my eyes again. "Wake up, please. Are you ok? Are you alive?"

Yes... I silently said, even though I had no idea if I could talk out loud and opened my eyes again, this time my vision was not as blurry as before. I am alive, and I think I am ok, even though I don't think I can move.

The person that was shaking me stopped and leaned over me to reveal a female with dark brown hair and green eyes like me. Her green eyes were filled with unshed tears and concern while she looked at me, studying me with such intensity that it took my breath away.

Mom...

I blinked and blinked again before I met her gaze. I tried to offer her a bit of a smile, but I couldn't move my mouth and had a feeling that I couldn't speak.

Ams...

I gasped and closed my eyes when a wave of magic washed over me, and my vocal chords seemed to loosen on its own accord as well as the muscles in my mouth. I blinked and blinked again while I stared at the female that I had inherited my eyes from. "Mom..." I croaked out, my voice barely above a whisper.

Tears pricked the edges of her vision, and she nodded. She gulped and moved a hand through my hair, and I closed my eyes and enjoyed her warmth and the peace that she brought with her.

"Katherine," the male, Uncle Peter, said, and I opened my eyes and didn't try to move because I knew that I wouldn't be able to move my body. "Are you ok? Are you hurt?"

"I am ok, I think," I said and blinked, assessing my body and if there were any injuries that I couldn't feel. I tried to move to look at him, but I couldn't and bit back an annoyed huff. "I can't move, though."
