I walked ahead of Ava and opened the doors inside. She was quick to follow me and shut the double doors to her apartment behind her. As soon as I stepped into the front hallway my nose filled with an alluring delicious aroma. My nose dragged me towards the smell, and I was soon standing by the kitchen and watching Rhys stir something in a pot. Ava came to stand beside me.

"Hmm? Y-you're cooking."

He turned to us. "Oh, Princess Ava, Prinxe Y/N! Yes, I am coooking. I had a conversation with Misses Oats about the nature of food here on Eurf."

~~~~~ Flash back conversation ~~~~~
"Oh! You want to learn how to win Ava over?" Misses Oats asked.
"Yes," Rhys answered. "I'm not familiar with human culture."
"Calm down, sweety. You're just looking for relationship advice," Misses Oats said.
"Umm..." Rhys hesitated, "yes... that."
"Well, it's mighty bold of you to go behind the other's backs," she let out a good, humored laugh. "Well, since you helped me cook before, I might as well tell you that the quickest way to a lady's heart is through her stomach."
"Wh-wha...?" he said disbelievingly. "By my stabbing her?"
"Oh, heavens no! I mean food. Every lady loves a man who can cook. Just don't let her know that you want to do this to impress her. She'll be even more impressed you're doing this without motivation and want you more." She giggled. "Here, let me get you my cookbook and some ingredients." She turned away, going to do just that.
"And... I just wanted to study coooking more," Rhys explained, drawing out the O. He chuckled, nervous sweat running down his face.
"Well, it smells delicious," I commented.
"Wow, Rhys that's awesome," Ava added.
"Thank you." He smiled.
"Tell me when it's ready," I called, making my way to the couch.
I would've been to the couch already, but I stupidly wasn't looking where I was going and crashed into something hard and hot and smelling of something smokey, like the nice smell of burning wood. I looked up and saw Asch looking down at me. I quickly pulled back, the blazing heat coming from his body faded, my cheeks heated up, and I felt myself missing that heat. And the thing is, Asch didn't look mad. Something is his eyes told me that he kind of missed the feeling of my body on his just as I missed his on me. I shook my head, doubting that fact.
He stared at me a second longer before he said, "Y-you look cute today."
I stared at him in shock. My cheeks were hotter than the sun at this point.
"But don't think anything of it," he yelled, quickly walking away. But I managed to catch a little glance at his blush.
I found myself thinking back to what Devon had said. Seeing your favorite movie scene for the hundredth time, but I didn't know what a movie was, so I imagined something else.
I imagined me and him up on the top of the apartment building again, watching the stars, him holding me tight in his warm embrace, his hot breath on my cheek.... Snap out of it! You've just come to a mutual respect point! I doubt he likes me anyway. But that look in his beautiful black eyes.... No! I imagined it.
