As I slipped my phone into my pocket, a contented sigh escaped my lips. The conversation with Dwayne had left me feeling invigorated, the warmth of camaraderie lingering in the air around me. Leaning back in my chair, I indulged in a luxurious stretch, relishing the pleasant sensation that rippled through my muscles.

Just as I settled into the comfortable embrace of my seat, a gentle tap on my shoulder jolted me from my reverie. I turned to find K standing there, his expression a curious mixture of amusement and intrigue, as though he had stumbled upon an unexpected discovery.

"What's up?" I inquired, noting the quizzical look on his face. "I thought you were catching some Z's."

A wry grin tugged at the corners of K's lips as he replied, "Well, I was in dreamland until some mysterious noises roused me from my slumber. So I decided to investigate."

I chuckled sheepishly, a tinge of guilt creeping into my demeanor. "Ah, sorry about that, I was just chatting with my buddy."

K's waved off my apology with a casual flick of his hand. "No worries. By the way, I heard a little birdie whispering about a girlfriend." He gave me a mischievous smirk.

We're not officially dating, but things are definitely heading in that direction, so I guess, I could say she's my girlfriend.

A flush of embarrassment tinted my cheeks as I stammered, "Uh, yeah, well... I mean... How much did you hear?"

A mischievous glint sparkled in K's eyes as he teased, "Not that much. Ever since you said something like, 'You moron, ask one question at a time.'

So basically he heard everything.

K's gaze bore into me, his words hanging heavy in the air. "So do you ever get scared? I've noticed you don't seem to flinch at all." His question lingered, stirring memories within me.

Dylan's face flashed before my eyes, a flicker of pain crossing my features. "It's just that I've witnessed things far worse than that," I replied softly, my voice tinged with a hint of sorrow.

Well I can't just drop the bombshell that I've seen a real ghost in my life to this guy, but I think if I did he will believe me.

K pulled a chair close a, the scrape of wood against the floor breaking the silence. He settled into it, his gaze unwavering. "So, um, if it's okay... I want to know your story. The complete story."

I hesitated for a moment, the weight of my past pressing down on me. "I've shared my story before," I began, uncertainty creeping into my tone.

K's gaze softened, understanding etched into the lines of his face. "I know that you haven't told me everything," he said gently, his voice a soothing balm to the raw edges of my emotions. "From the way you spoke about me and others... and the way you talked to your friend... I kind of have a weird feeling about you."

His words struck a chord within me, a flicker of trust igniting in my heart. I longed to unburden myself, to let someone in and share the weight I carried. With a deep breath, I met Kevin's gaze and spoke softly, "If you're willing to listen, I'll tell you everything.

K nodded as I poured out my heart, finding solace in his comforting presence. I felt a wave of relief wash over me as I divulged every painful detail, from June's tragic demise to the haunting presence of ghostly Dylan, and the looming shadows of Elizabeth. But before I could delve into those darker corners of my past, he gently halted me, sensing the weight of my burdens.

His expression mirrored the heaviness in my heart as he absorbed the depths of my suffering. "This is so heartbreaking," he murmured, his voice heavy with empathy. "I can't believe you're enduring all of this."
