After Arnav left the terrace, everyone else too left behind him. But Shyam stayed behind.

Khushi suppressed her smile, having expected it. But she kept looking down, continuing her act of being an 'abla naari' (helpless woman)!

"Ab rone se kya faayda (What's the use of crying now) Khushi ji? I had told you before too, Arnav doesn't deserve you. But you made the wrong choice. *sigh*. Anyway. If you had chosen me and my love, you wouldn't be crying today."

Khushi heard him shamelessly proclaim his love again. She wished he could hear her actual thoughts on that, which were "Don't worry Shyam. Hum woh Khushi hai jo aasu nahi bahati, par dusro ke aasu nikalwati hai, hum woh khushi hai jo ro ti nahi, apne dushmano ko rulati hai. (I am that Khushi who doesn't shed tears but makes others do that, I am that Khushi who doesn't cry but makes her enemies cry)."

Shyam had not realized until that point, that he was standing at the exact same place where Arnav stood last night and where he himself stood one night many moons ago. It was here when he had held Khushi and gave wrong ideas to Arnav. He had mocked Arnav and Khushi's love then. But since last night, it had been Khushi mocking his evil plans and setting them off for failure!

"You are right, Shyam." She said, directly looking him in the eye. He had uttered nonsense about how Arnav was a wrong man for her and how she had erred by marrying him on haste. He couldn't be more right! Arnav marrying her in haste that night was indeed a mistake but one they both didn't mind in the long run now. However, Shyam need not know that. At least not yet.

So, she said, "You are right that marrying Arnavji was a wrong choice for me. But you and I cannot be together either."

Shyam's eyes twinkled hearing the first part and he frowned hearing the second. "Why not Khushi ji? If you are worrying about Anjali, then I am ready to leave her." He spoke. Now that he had Khushi who not only was his desire but also a key to a billion-dollar diamond, he didn't need Anjali as his money machine.

"It's not just Anjali ji but Arnavji won't let me live peacefully either. *She sighed dramatically* So, there is only one option for us now." she said, looking at shyam with a lopsided smile.

"What is it?" shyam asked, frowning at her sudden change in mood. He was also puzzled seeing her look for something in the jhola(bag) she carried.

Soon, Khushi pulled out a gun, making Shyam horrified for his life!

"kh- Khushi ji, wh- what are you d-doing?" he asked, sinking back into the open space of the terrace behind him.

"There is no other option shyam. We have to die together." She said, aiming the gun at him.

Shyam was so scared looking at the mad glint in her eyes that he didn't pause to think if the weapon was real or not. Khushi was a known 'sanki' anyway.

"Khushi ji what are you doing? Lower, lower the gun" he said, scared for his life.

But Khushi showed no sign of budging. "Why are you so scared shyam? Pyar kiya toh darna kya (If you love, then why fear)?"

"Pyar gaya bhaad mein (to hell with love). Akal ghas charne gayi thi meri (I had gone mad). Listen to me, I did not love you, ok? I was attracted to you. And now I just need your anklet that has a key to the diamond. That's why I was helping Subhadra Malik and Shital" He blurted out.

Khushi did a victory dance hearing what she expected to hear.

"Aha! Now that's like a good confession. Now call the police and say the same in front of them too, ok?" Khushi said.
