Author's Perspective :

The reality was worse that the commoners ought it to be. The king's greed and ill actions, triggered Bakedu - daegan (mountain's god spirit) patience and he overdid it. With the constant attack of skulks of foxes, the kingdom's condition was in deep grave, and half the geographical territory was burnt in ashes. Everyone was panicked, the once King and soldiers with immense pride now let Y/N to invite in as a soldier too, since no sign of Sunoo could be traced over the past few weeks, the last meeting he had with Y/N, a month ago, was the last time anyone ever saw him.

Y/N could have been proud to finally serve her land, her people, but at what cost? Her town was covered in layer of ashes, people were asked to hide under every possible shelter left, and the foxes attacks was enough to make her heart ache, not to forget the last conversation she had with her lover, Sunoo. Where was he? No one knew, but something inside
Y/N knew that he must have some motive for his sudden disappearance.

The day was here, she was out in the forest with the rest of last left soldiers and the pathetic king, to fight their final battle. Or atleast what they hoped it could turned into. The foxes were scattered around the whole forest, hiding with excellency, making the swords in warrior's hand to be in alert all the time. The foxes were harmless in the past, but their silent protest were disrupted when the king happened to kill one of them, just to prove the innocent commoners that they were nothing in front of their almighty king, the one who can stoop low for the name of power and authority.

Maybe it was the point when everything went downhill. The god spirit was angered to the core and the skulks couldn't take it calmly anymore. The continuous attacks and nature catastrophe began, resulting for the last few warrior and the king himself to fight for the sake of their survival. Thunderstorms could be heard as the pitch black clouds took over. Y/N stepping forward, mastering it almost well, since the commander in chief, Sunoo, her lover, trained her for years with his whole heart and pride. She missed him at the sudden thought.

She was hating every passing seconds of stepping her foot in the battle ground, the forest, when it was the foxes they had to fight against to. She knew very well how Sunoo loves foxes. How could she attack them? She didn't learned his techniques to attack on foxes. She can't do that. Her vision getting blurred at the thought only, her hands gripping the hilt tightly as she took a step, but stopped as a bruised fox approached her, one of fox's eyes brutally done, her heart and mind screamed opposite reactions, until a loud call was heard from one of the fellow soldiers, "Y/N watch out!" She quickly came back to her senses, her eyes widening as the fox pounced to attack on her.
