Chapter 27 – Party Invitation

After several classes Giselle decided it would be best to lay low during lunch. If she even tried to go to the food court then it would risk bumping into Jonah. That was something she didn’t want to go through, even if it meant starving. She couldn’t risk bumping into him and watching his heart shred into pieces. Stalling was the only plan she had for now.

Classes were pretty basic as usual. Except in battle and training she wasn’t necessarily battling anyone, it was more like a training of a training. A teacher by the name of Sir Mathen’s who went on about what to expect during the rest of the course. Stuff like bruises, sprained ankles, cries for help and etcetera. To Giselle’s surprise  Professor Cornelius was nowhere in sight, it was a slight relief. Sometimes she wondered why he was around her presence so much.

Giselle walked through campus feeling the slight breeze come through her hair. A chill that she hated then came across her spine and as usual she reminded herself that she was a fire user and with a simple thought she could end the feelings that the cold gave her. As days went by it was getting colder and winter was practically here. Quickly a warm feeling passed through her body and she was in a warm state.

No matter how cold it was getting students still lingered around campus walking and talking as if it was a beautiful day out. The campus was just that vibrant and dorm rooms were extremely boring but Giselle knew she had to hide away there. Instantly she slowed her pace realizing that Jonah could just show up there.

Who am I kidding? I can’t run from this.

She sighed to herself before realizing someone walking towards her in the distance. She stared wide eyes but to her satisfaction the closer the figure came the sooner she realized it wasn’t Jonah. Confused she crossed her arms as Lucas stepped in front of her.

            “How are you this afternoon?”

Giselle smirked eyeing him carefully. “What do you want?”

He laughed to himself while shaking his head. “I’m not out to get you or something, just saying hi.”

            “Hi.”

“Listen we kind of met on a bad foot after Sir Franks class, I’m Lucas.” He stuck his hand out. Giselle stared at it, not knowing if he or Clea could be trusted but cancelled out the thought. How could a simple hand shake hurt? She put her hand in his and shook it before letting go.

“So, there has to be a reason your talking to me besides the fact that you wanted to reintroduce yourself.”

Lucas nodded before taking out a blue envelope from his bag and handing it to her. “Party in the boys lounge tonight at eight.”
