Chapter 46 – Your eyes are the window
Giselle hopped out of a steaming hot shower feeling more content than ever. She always took the hottest showers, ones that would make anyone else uncomfortable. But of course it was because of the flames in her veins. They gave her an odd attraction to heat but still, she felt as if it was natural and had nothing to do with just her gift.
She walked over to the closet Isaac had spoken about; opening it to see what type of outfits would be inside. Her eyes instantly went wide because of the sight before her, dress upon dress laid upon hangers. Each one of them were different lengths and colors. Smiling Giselle pulled down a blue one, pushing her fingers against the fabric to feel its amazing silk.
It occurred to her that she had no idea what to wear. A normal night was bound to occur with absolutely no date or action. What could possibly be appropriate? It wasn’t like she needed to wear a dress or anything.
At the bottom of the closet was a small dresser. She opened it to find jeans, shorts, t-shirts and other types of clothing. Quickly she got dressed, throwing on a white top and jeans over her under clothes. Deepening her search through the closet she found a red sweater. She put that on too knowing it was somewhat cold around the castle as well as outside.
Giselle glanced at the clock taking in the 6:50 that it read.
Right on time.
The hallways weren’t of her liking. It was terribly easy to get lost due to the castles constants swerves and hidden halls. There were so many pathways and arches she had to get used to. Each passage led to a different room and for a second Giselle began to grow nervous, wondering if she’d be able to find he way to the living room from earlier that day.
Finally, things began to look a tad bit familiar. She found her way through a long corridor that led to the living room she was in only hours before. Walking in she noticed a well dressed Adonis. Her stomach thickened with guilt. He actually took the time to put on a nice silk black button up and slacks to match his expensive looking dress shoes.
She bit her lip hesitant as Adonis met her gaze. He stood up and strode over to her before smiling his 9 watt smile. Giselle didn’t smile back, she was simply looking for the right words to say.
“That doesn’t look like the proper attire to go out to dinner.” Adonis pointed out, eyeing her outfit.
“I know, I know.” Giselle mumbled. Her stomach twisted in remorse. There Adonis was dressed perfectly in the most luxurious looking outfit. He looked so classy and clean cut, she didn’t know how she’d say no. Then it hit her, she was doing this for Isaac, he meant that much to her. She straightened up and found her voice. “I’m sorry but I can’t go.”
“Why not?”
“I-I just can’t.” She breathed with a sigh. “But it’s not because of you, really, you look great.”
