Chapter 40: Falling in love again

'Are we together again', he said and his voice swirled around Y/n's head like it was an echo.

She didn't know if they were together but she could tell that they were not fighting anymore or maybe, just forgetting the past and living the future. She didn't know the answer.

'I don't know', she said truthfully. 'But I think we should...'

'We should do what?', he asked eagerly, expecting something bizarre. 

'No actually, I think we should do everything over again'

'What?', he raised his eyebrow.

'Like falling in love again', she said meeting his eyes. 'We could fall in love again, from the beginning'

Harry looked at her as if she was asking something the world couldn't afford. He might as well think about how someone can fall in love "again"? Maybe he needed a conversation with Hermione before he agreed to Y/n's condition. 

'Everything from the first? Are you sure that you don't have any injuries in your head?', he said in disbelief. 

Y/n giggled. 'I am perfectly sane, Harry, don't worry'

'Um, okay', he said flustered, it's been a while since she had called him Harry, he was on cloud nine... nope ninety to be exact. 'We are alright now aren't we?... So why start everything over again?... we can just continue'

'No, Harry', she shook her head. 'I don't want the ghosts of my past ruining my future with you... and half my past is erased, I barely remember my memories with you', her e/c eyes pleaded with Harry that he had to break their eye contact.

What would Hermione say if she was in my place?, Harry thought. 

Say "Yes", Harry... you can do it!, The Hermione in his mind said. 

You sure?, He asked her.

A ten thousand percent, come on guys!, she said.

'Okay', Harry said out loud.

'What do you mean by Okay ?', she asked.

'I-I... yeah... we can fall in love again', he said. 'So do I get a kiss?'

Y/n copied the smirk etched on his face. 'Don't be silly, Potterson, you need to wait for that'

'Wait?', Harry rolled his eyes. 'God, girls are really difficult!'

'So are boys', Y/n retorted. 'Well... so friends?', she offered a hand to him. 

'Friends?', Harry asked in disbelief. 'You want me to be your friend? ', and looked at her from head to toe, the incident looked pretty familiar, like how Draco Malfoy himself had offered him a friendship pact back in their first year.

Y/n blinked in agreement. 'Come on, Harry! I hope you don't want enemies-to-lovers... then I will have to fight with you every figurative second. Do you want that'

'Of course not, friends-to-lovers are much better', he raised his hands, surrendering to Y/n, the beginning of his new life. 'So, can I offer, you m'lady a tour to the Hospital wing, in my arms?'

'Should I make a request?...Please', she giggled as he scooped her into his arms, and walked as he hummed something, Y/n wanted to ask later. 'You won't put me down, would you?'

'Never again in my life, Y/n', he sighed. 'I had enough of letting you down and suffering in my head, so yeah... but we have an exception'
