AUTHOR'S NOTE- Part 2 or The uninvited guest
The moment Mrs Geraldine's clothes hem disappeared from view. Shannon released her breath as a sign of relief. Everyone in the room got back to their chores.
When the unexpected and an unwelcomed or uninvited friend or a monster came inside with a high-pitched voice asking. She had her auburn hair and brown-coloured eyes 'Isn't this the apartment A7.' She asked shaking her hair
'Yeah, it is. But what do you want, Everlee.' Asked Flare angrily. Shannon could sense from Flare's anger; that this isn't going to go in a good way or end in a good way.
Then removing her sunglasses said in an acting-of-getting-scared voice 'Who is this Princess Flare Grace from Erin? Didn't expect to see you here.' Everlee said having an evil smile on her face.
Shannon's eyes bulged out on hearing 'Princess Flare Grace of Erin', was she all this time talking to a real-life princess?
'Can you please get out of this apartment?' Flare ordered.
But Everlee with an evil smirk plastered on her face, replied 'I am so sorry Princess Flare. You do not have any right to kick me out of this room.'
For some reason, those words echoed in Shannon's ears because all of a sudden she had a strange fear that came into her mind.
'Because my apartment is this and my room is A7- 7B, Mind it.' Everlee said in a tyrannical voice.
Shannon got up from the couch as every one of her friends stared at her. She knew from the look on their faces, that they must be wondering 'how she got stuck with a fashion-obsessed diva, like Everlee'.
'So, where is my room? I know this academy's corridor very well. So, Mrs. Geraldine told me I can go on my own.' Then higher pitch she added. 'After all my dad the king of Mildawn is this academy's trustee.' Continuing in her usual tone. 'She, told me to ask my apartment-mates about my room. So, would you mind, Flare?'
All of them in the room could see Flare's face turning red as a tomato as she pointed to the room.
Everlee sashayed to Shannon's room. And the next second everyone heard a scream. 'Oh no, I didn't get a single room. Who is this girl among you? who is my roommate.'
'I am' Shannon replied in a wave of rigid anger and on the primitive side screaming 'Why have I got a roommate like this.'
'You, okay whatever. I want a single room and it seems that I got to share the room. So, let's get this straight. You sleep on the couch in the main room. While I sleep in this room. And it's finalized, got it.' Everlee said right in Shannon's face.
Shannon looked in her face and was tempted to say 'Who are you to kick me out of my room? I will complain to the school authorities.'
But that was what her dark side told her to do. Which she ignored completely because she wasn't going to create trouble for herself. After all, she is a princess and her father is the trustee. What if they kick her out of the school? But either way Flare and Jinni were not going to agree to that.
'Miss Everlee, you don't have any right to say that. In this room, this bed belongs to her.' Flare said pointing to Shannon's bed.
'Flare, this isn't a problem regarding you. This is between me and whatever your name is.' Said Everlee pointing her hand at Shannon.
'My name is Shannon.' Shannon replied.
'Okay, whatever.' Everlee said in a casual tone as if names weren't a big deal to her.
After quite an argument, it was settled that Shannon would not sleep on the couch. Even in the middle of this argument, Everlee brought up another topic for debate, that is Shannon has taken the pretty side of the room. And with this new argument, Everlee brought the fight to another level itself. Because Rachel who was quiet the entire time of the long argument spoke up.
Shannon was sure from Rachel's face that she was fed up with the nonsense and the next thing was Rachel walked up and quietly replied 'Everlee, this room was like this itself if someone has made that side prettier like you said that is Shannon. Because I came here before her and I have seen this room and if you are not ready to understand this. I have nothing to say. Then, one more thing is there. Shannon's room number was given at the reception table. According to that number that is her side and not yours.'
Shannon looked into Rachel's eyes; she couldn't believe it. She was always quiet and calm but now she spoke in a calm voice but with very sharp words.
'Hey, who are you calling Everlee? I am Princess Everlee of Mildawn, got it, Miss. Call me Princess Everlee.' Snarled Everlee.
By now Shannon was sure that it wasn't going to go well for the next seven years. When Shannon was thinking about how to bring an end to this crisis, she heard Rachel speak up in a not-so-down and calm voice.
'Miss, whoever you are. It's none of my business. Even if you rule this dimension or you're the daughter of the great king of Mildawn, those things do not affect me in any way. And I can also do one more thing that is writing a letter to his majesty. Stating that his daughter 'Princess Everlee ' wants her to be addressed 'Princess Everlee of the kingdom of Mildawn'. And this is against the rules of the college. Here, everyone is treated equally. Either be it a princess or a commoner. And I wouldn't mind talking about you harassing Shannon. Got it, Miss.'
Everyone was equal to drum stuck hearing Rachel speaking like that. She was a silent and quiet personality. But it looked like she could speak up if required.
Everlee was irritated a lot. Because her words this time were mean and her voice was sharp. 'How dare you. You use the word 'you' on me.' But then her eyes saw the sternness in Rachel's face. 'Fine, get out of my room.'
Shannon decided to put some protection spells on her side of the room. She decided to ask her friends, as she wasn't very good at magic.
Later in the afternoon, there was an alarm through a Dark box kept on a wooden stand above the television. 'Message through the PA system.' Farrah said in a loud voice.
'Good evening, students. Today is an auspicious day for us, as all our freshers have joined our school. So, from tomorrow onwards our new term begins. I hope everyone has taken their school supplies from the store. The year ahead will be filled with challenges. Where with courage you shall move forward. Now, a few things that are to be brought to the notice. No one is supposed to be on the grounds after the sun is down. There is patrolling going around and if anyone is found out of bed. It will be taken very seriously.
Secondly, until this year you all have been permitted to go inside the forest. But from today onwards no such acts will be welcomed. I hope, the seniors understood what I meant. 'No dares of staying in the forest'. Mainly, because there are hunters around the area.
First levelers, all the best and you will do great. Second levelers, the charm ceremony will be in the next week. Third levelers, this is your transformation year and your dust ceremony will be in the proceeding week after the charm ceremony.
Fourth, fifth, and sixth levelers, this year you learn to manifest your special ability. So, maintain focus. Seventh-levelers, this is your last year here in this academy. Your last, final, and most important exam of your life will be given by you this year. So, work hard, practice, and focus and you will achieve your highest. That is it for today. Hope you will have an illuminating year. Thankyou.'
As the voice from the PA system died down. Shannon started to feel the headache again. She looked around her, If Flare, Jinni, Rachel, and Farrah saw her screaming in pain. They will not take it lightly as they took it in the morning. 'I have a personal errand to do-
'Of course, you will have.' Snickered Everlee, as she left the room.
Shannon's lips thinned, and then all of a sudden a voice appeared in her mind. 'Woah, who is that ruddy.'
'You are back.' Shannon said in a gasp, loudly.
'Who is back.' Flare asked.
