Breath of Relief

Namjoon sat alone in the dimly lit practice room, the weight of the world pressing down on his shoulders. The room, usually a place of creativity and camaraderie, now felt suffocating. As the leader of the group, he was responsible not only for their success but also for their well-being. Add to that the relentless pressure from the company, the ever-critical anti-fans, and his ongoing university studies, and it was no wonder he felt on the verge of a breakdown.

His breaths came in shallow, rapid gasps as he tried to organize the chaotic storm in his mind. His vision blurred, and his chest tightened. He needed to calm down, but the more he thought about everything he had to handle, the more impossible it seemed.

Just then, the door creaked open, and Jimin walked in, a look of concern immediately crossing his face as he saw Namjoon's state. He rushed over and knelt beside him, placing a gentle hand on his back.

"Namjoon-hyung, are you okay?" Jimin asked softly.

Namjoon shook his head, unable to find the words to explain the turmoil inside him. Jimin recognized the signs of a panic attack and took a deep breath, trying to stay calm for his friend's sake.

"Hey, look at me," Jimin said, his voice steady but soothing. "Breathe with me, okay? In for four, hold for four, out for four."

He demonstrated, and Namjoon, though struggling, tried to follow. Slowly, Jimin's calm and rhythmic breathing began to anchor him. His breaths started to align with Jimin's, becoming deeper and more controlled.

"That's it, hyung," Jimin encouraged. "Just keep breathing."

As Namjoon's breathing steadied, Jimin continued speaking, his tone gentle and reassuring. "I know it's hard. Being the leader, dealing with all the expectations and criticism, and managing school on top of it... it's a lot for anyone. But you don't have to carry it all by yourself."

Namjoon finally met Jimin's eyes, tears brimming but a faint glimmer of relief there too. "I just... I don't want to let anyone down. I feel like I'm drowning."

Jimin nodded, understanding. "You've been doing an amazing job, hyung. We all see how hard you work and how much you care. But you're not alone. We're a team, remember? We're here to support you, just like you've always supported us."

Namjoon wiped his eyes, taking another deep breath. "It's just... sometimes it feels like too much. The pressure, the criticism, the expectations... I don't know how to handle it all."

Jimin squeezed his shoulder. "You handle it by taking it one step at a time. And by asking for help when you need it. We're all in this together. You've got us, and we've got you. And remember, it's okay to take a break. You're only human, hyung."

Namjoon nodded, feeling a bit of the weight lift from his shoulders. Jimin's presence and words had a calming effect, reminding him that he wasn't alone in this. They sat there for a while, the silence now comforting rather than oppressive.

"Thank you, Jimin," Namjoon finally said, his voice steadying. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Jimin smiled warmly. "Anytime, hyung. We're family. We take care of each other."

With Jimin by his side, Namjoon felt a renewed sense of strength. He knew the challenges wouldn't disappear, but with his friends' support, he was ready to face them. Together, they stood up, ready to take on whatever came next.
