Soulmate
Jimin sat alone in the practice room, his phone clutched tightly in his hand. Taehyung's latest post flashed on the screen—another picture with his Hwarang castmates. They were all smiles, arms around each other, looking like they'd been friends forever.
Jimin's heart sank. It felt like a knife twisting in his chest each time he saw Taehyung with them.Their plans had been postponed so many times that Jimin had lost count.
Movie nights, late-night food runs, even just hanging out in their dorm room—everything seemed less important to Taehyung than his new friends. Jimin couldn't help but feel like he was being pushed aside.
It all came to a head one evening. Taehyung had canceled their plans again, opting to spend time with his Hwarang friends. When he returned to the dorm, Jimin was waiting, a mixture of sadness and frustration etched on his face.
"Tae, can we talk?" Jimin's voice was strained.
"What's up, Jimin?" Taehyung replied, though his tone was distracted.
"Why do you keep canceling on me? It's like you don't want to spend time with me anymore."Taehyung frowned.
"Jimin, it's not like that. I'm just busy with the drama and—"
"And your new friends," Jimin interrupted, his voice rising. "It feels like you've replaced me."
Taehyung's eyes flashed with anger. "That's not fair, Jimin. I have other friends now. Why can't you just be happy for me?"
"Happy for you? How can I be happy when you keep pushing me away?"
The argument escalated, voices getting louder, emotions running high.In a moment of frustration, Taehyung blurted out, "You know what? Sometimes it feels like the Hwarang members are better friends than you!"
The words hung in the air, heavy and painful. Jimin's face fell, his eyes filled with hurt. Without another word, he turned and walked away, leaving Taehyung standing there, regret already pooling in his stomach.
From that moment on, Jimin stopped asking for Taehyung's attention. He withdrew, focusing on his own activities, avoiding unnecessary interactions. Taehyung, initially too stubborn to admit his mistake, grew more frustrated with each passing day. He couldn't understand why Jimin was being so distant.
As days turned into weeks, Taehyung couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in his heart every time he saw Jimin. His attempts to engage Jimin in conversation were met with short replies or outright silence. At first, he brushed it off as Jimin being busy or tired, but as the days went by, Taehyung couldn't ignore the growing chasm between them.
One evening, as they lounged in their dorm, the tension became too much for Taehyung to bear. He watched Jimin, once his closest confidant, now a distant figure lost in his own thoughts. Taehyung's frustration bubbled to the surface, and he couldn't hold it in any longer.
"Guys, I don't understand what's going on with Jimin," Taehyung blurted out, his voice tinged with frustration.
The other members looked up, concern etched on their faces. Jin, ever the peacemaker, spoke up first. "What do you mean, Tae?"
Taehyung sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "He's been so distant lately. Barely talks to me, avoids me whenever he can. I don't get it."
J-Hope furrowed his brow, considering Taehyung's words carefully. "Did something happen between you two?"
Taehyung shook his head. "I don't know. We had an argument a while back, but I thought we patched things up. Ever since then, he's been like this."
Suga, who had been listening quietly, spoke up. "Maybe he's still upset about the argument. Have you tried talking to him about it?"
Taehyung nodded, frustration evident in his voice. "I've tried, but he just shuts me out. It's like he doesn't want anything to do with me anymore."
The room fell into a heavy silence as the members exchanged worried glances. It pained them to see their two closest friends drifting apart like this.
J-Hope cleared his throat, breaking the silence. "Tae, remember what you said during the argument?"
Taehyung frowned, trying to recall the heated exchange. "I said a lot of things in the heat of the moment. What does that have to do with anything?"
J-Hope's expression softened as he spoke gently, "You said that the Hwarang members were better friends than Jimin. That must have hurt him a lot, Tae."
Realization dawned on Taehyung, his eyes widening in horror as the weight of his words settled in his chest. "I... I didn't mean it like that. I was just frustrated. But Jimin... he must have taken it to heart."
The room was filled with a heavy silence as Taehyung's words hung in the air. Guilt gnawed at him, knowing that his careless words had caused Jimin so much pain. He knew he had to make things right, no matter what it took.
With newfound determination, Taehyung made a silent promise to himself to mend their fractured friendship. He would do whatever it took to bridge the gap between them and show Jimin just how much he truly valued their bond.
Taehyung couldn't shake the weight of guilt that settled heavily on his shoulders after the conversation with the other members. He realized the gravity of his words and the pain they must have caused Jimin. Determined to make amends, he knew he had to find a way to apologize and mend their friendship, no matter how difficult it might be.
That evening, Taehyung found Jimin sitting alone in their room, his posture tense, and his expression guarded. Taehyung took a deep breath, steeling himself for the conversation ahead. He couldn't afford to let his nerves get the best of him now.
"Jiminie, can we talk?" Taehyung's voice was soft, laced with sincerity.
Jimin glanced up, his eyes guarded but curious. "What is it, Tae?"
Taehyung took a seat beside him, careful not to invade his space. "I... I need to apologize, Jimin. I was wrong, and I hurt you with my words. I should have never said what I did about the Hwarang members being better friends than you. I was frustrated, but that's no excuse for how I treated you."
Jimin remained silent, his eyes fixed on the floor as he processed Taehyung's words. Taehyung waited anxiously, the silence stretching between them, heavy with tension.
"I miss you, Jimin," Taehyung continued, his voice filled with emotion. "I miss us. I miss our late-night talks and our silly adventures. You mean everything to me, and I hate that I let my frustrations get in the way of our friendship."
Finally, Jimin looked up, his eyes shining with unshed tears. "Tae... I felt so hurt and betrayed when you said those things. It felt like you didn't care about me anymore."
Taehyung's heart clenched at the pain in Jimin's voice. "I care about you more than anything, Jimin. You're my best friend, my confidant, my rock. I never want you to doubt that."
Jimin sighed, his walls crumbling in the face of Taehyung's sincerity. "I missed you too, Tae. I hated how distant we've become, but I didn't know how to bridge the gap."
Taehyung reached out, gently taking Jimin's hand in his own. "We can bridge it together, Jimin. I'll do whatever it takes to make things right between us. Please, can we start over?"
Jimin hesitated for a moment, the weight of their shared history and the pain of their recent rift hanging in the air. But then, he nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Okay, Tae. Let's start over."
With those words, a sense of relief washed over Taehyung, his heart lightening with the promise of reconciliation. They still had a lot to work through, but with honesty, forgiveness, and a renewed commitment to their friendship, Taehyung knew they would emerge stronger than ever before.
