Kim Taehyung’s fever burned like a furnace, and every breath felt like inhaling shards of glass. He lay in bed, eyes squeezed shut, hoping the world would stop spinning. Being sick was the worst, and he had little patience for it. Luckily, his members were there to see him through.
Seokjin was the first to notice Taehyung’s state. He quietly entered the room, his chef instincts kicking in. "You need to drink this," he said, offering a mug of steaming ginger tea.
Taehyung barely managed a weak protest. "I don't want it."
Seokjin, always patient, set the mug on the bedside table and smoothed Taehyung’s hair. "It'll help, I promise. Try to sip it when you can."
Moments later, Jimin slipped in, his ever-present smile subdued with worry. He perched on the edge of Taehyung’s bed. "Hyung made you tea. It’ll help your throat."
Taehyung mumbled something incoherent, his voice raspy. Jimin, unphased, began rubbing gentle circles on his back. "I know you hate being sick, but you need to let us take care of you. We're here for you."
The door creaked open, and Namjoon entered with a bowl of rice porridge. He set it on the nightstand and sat on the other side of the bed. "This is easy on your stomach. Can you try a few bites?"
Taehyung’s stomach churned at the thought, but he opened his mouth obediently, allowing Namjoon to feed him small spoonfuls. "Good job, Tae. Just a bit more."
Yoongi appeared next, silently assessing the situation. He placed a cool hand on Taehyung’s forehead. "You're burning up. We need to keep you hydrated and cool."
He adjusted the damp cloth on Taehyung’s forehead, his touch soothing. "Rest. We’ll take shifts checking on you."
Later, Hoseok came in with his usual bright energy toned down to match the quiet, sickroom atmosphere. He brought a bowl of ice water and a cloth, gently wiping Taehyung's face and neck. "You’re doing great, Tae. Just hang in there."
Jungkook followed, carrying a tray with more tea and medicine. He set it down carefully and handed Taehyung the medicine, watching to ensure he swallowed it. "This will help with the fever. You’ll feel better soon."
Once Taehyung had taken the medicine, Hoseok settled beside him with a tablet. "Let’s watch one of your favorite movies. It’ll help distract you."
As the movie played, Hoseok and Jungkook kept a quiet watch, ready to assist at a moment’s notice. Each time Taehyung stirred, one of them would be there with a gentle hand, a soothing word, or a sip of water.
Through the night, the members rotated, each bringing their unique brand of care and comfort. Jin’s culinary expertise ensured Taehyung had nourishing food and drink. Jimin’s warmth and patience provided constant emotional support. Namjoon’s calm presence made sure Taehyung ate and stayed hydrated. Yoongi’s practical care maintained Taehyung’s comfort. Hoseok’s positivity lifted Taehyung’s spirits, and Jungkook’s attentiveness ensured no detail was overlooked.
As dawn approached, Taehyung’s fever finally broke. He woke to find all the members around him, looking tired but relieved. He managed a small, grateful smile.
"Thanks, guys," he croaked, voice still weak but heartfelt.
Seokjin ruffled his hair. "Anything for our Taehyungie."
Jimin squeezed his hand. "We’re glad you’re feeling better."
Namjoon smiled. "Rest now. We’ll be here when you wake up."
Yoongi nodded. "Get some sleep. You need it."
Hoseok and Jungkook simply sat close, their presence a comforting reminder of the bond they all shared.
Taehyung closed his eyes, feeling the love and care of his members surrounding him like a warm blanket. Being sick was terrible, but with his BTS family by his side, he knew he could get through anything.
