The members of BTS had noticed it for weeks—RM, their leader, was burning the candle at both ends. Between group activities, individual projects, and endless meetings, Namjoon seemed to be shouldering the weight of the world. Despite their gentle reminders and outright pleas for him to take a break, Namjoon always brushed them off with a tired smile and a resolute determination in his eyes.
It all came to a head one evening. Namjoon had been running a high fever, yet he insisted on attending an important meeting about securing investment for the group's future projects. The members were deeply concerned.
Earlier that evening, the atmosphere in the dorm was tense. Namjoon had been burning up with a fever all day, his forehead hot to the touch, his movements sluggish. Yet, despite his condition, he was adamant about attending the meeting.
"Namjoon, look at yourself. You're in no condition to go anywhere," Jin said, his voice tinged with frustration and concern. He stood in the doorway of Namjoon's room, arms crossed, his eyes reflecting the worry etched on his face.
Namjoon, dressed in a suit but visibly unsteady, tried to muster a reassuring smile. "I know, hyung. But this meeting is too important. We need the investment for our next project."
Suga stepped forward, his face a mask of worry. "Namjoon, you're our leader, but you're also human. You need to take care of yourself. This can wait."
Taehyung, who had been silently observing from the corner of the room, finally spoke up. "Hyung, I agree with Yoongi-hyung. Your health comes first. We'll find another way to handle this."
Namjoon shook his head slowly, as if even that movement pained him. "I’ve already rescheduled once. If I don't show up now, it could jeopardize everything we've worked for."
J-Hope placed a hand on Namjoon's shoulder, his eyes pleading. "Namjoon, we can find another way. Let us handle it. Your health is more important than any meeting."
Namjoon looked around at his members, each one reflecting his own exhaustion and concern back at him. He sighed deeply, his resolve wavering but not breaking. "I appreciate it, really. But as your leader, I need to do this. I'll be back soon, I promise."
Jimin stepped closer, almost blocking the door. "Hyung, we can’t lose you. What good is the investment if you're not here to see it through with us?"
Namjoon placed a gentle hand on Jimin's arm, his expression softening. "I'll be okay, Jimin-ah. I have to do this. For all of us."
Jungkook, standing by the doorway, clenched his fists in frustration. "Hyung, please…"
But Namjoon was already moving past them, his steps unsteady but determined. The members watched helplessly as their leader, their friend, walked out the door into the night, their hearts heavy with fear and worry.
Little did they know, it would be the last straw, pushing Namjoon to his breaking point. The members could only wait, hoping and praying for his safe return.
Hours passed, and the dorm was unusually quiet. Jin, Suga, and J-Hope tried to distract themselves, but their thoughts kept returning to their ailing leader. The clock ticked closer to midnight when they finally heard the front door creak open.
When Namjoon finally returned to the dorm, the atmosphere was thick with tension and worry. The members, who had been anxiously pacing around the living room, immediately rushed to his side as soon as they heard the door creak open.
Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook all stood there, their eyes wide with concern, as Namjoon staggered into the room, his steps unsteady and his face drained of color.
