Warm Days, Warmer Hearts
It was late December, and the members of BTS had just finished their final concert for the year. After months of intense schedules, world tours, and constant media attention, all they wanted was a quiet vacation together, away from prying eyes and flashing cameras. The boys needed to unwind, recharge, and simply enjoy each other’s company without any pressures.
Jin, ever the planner, had arranged for them to stay at a private Airbnb nestled in a remote part of the world. It was a charming villa tucked between sunlit hills, with an incredible view of the ocean on one side and lush, green trees on the other. It was the perfect escape from the cold, bustling city and the bone-chilling winter they had left behind.
“Just think about it,” Jin had said, his eyes gleaming with excitement, “We’ll be basking in the warmth, eating delicious food, and maybe even taking a dip in the pool. A proper getaway.”
The others had readily agreed, eager to soak in some sun and rest their tired bodies. The thought of lounging under the warm rays, far from the frigid snow and freezing winds, was pure bliss.
The journey to the Airbnb had been smooth, albeit long, as the villa was located in a secluded spot, far from the main roads. By the time they arrived, the sky was beginning to shift into hues of orange and pink, signalling the setting sun. They all let out satisfied sighs as they unloaded their luggage and stepped into the house, a spacious, modern affair with floor-to-ceiling windows that offered panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding hills.
“This place is incredible,” Jungkook breathed out, dropping his bags at the entrance as he marvelled at the interior. “We should have come here ages ago!”
“I told you it’d be worth it,” Jin said smugly, folding his arms as he admired his handiwork. “Now, let’s relax!”
And so, they settled into the villa with ease. The air was warm but comfortable, and after weeks of enduring freezing temperatures, the shift felt like a dream. Taehyung immediately claimed a spot by the pool, lounging on a sunbed with his sunglasses perched on his nose. Jimin joined him shortly after, and soon the rest of the members followed suit, either swimming in the pool, relaxing on the deck, or lounging inside with the air conditioning on full blast.
The first evening was perfect. They ate dinner under the stars, courtesy of Jin and Suga, who whipped up a meal of grilled meats, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Afterward, they played games, told stories, and shared laughs late into the night, all while the sounds of the ocean waves crashing against the shore provided a peaceful background. It was everything they had hoped for: calm, carefree, and comfortable.
However, as night turned into day, things began to take a turn.
The second day had started out fine enough. The sun was shining brightly, and the air was warm but pleasant. The boys woke up feeling refreshed and ready for another day of leisure. They decided to take it easy, with some of them staying by the pool while others chose to relax inside.
But then, out of nowhere, disaster struck.
It started when Jungkook noticed the air conditioning had stopped working.
“Hyung, I think there’s something wrong with the AC,” Jungkook called out, frowning as he fiddled with the remote control. “It’s not turning on.”
Jin, ever the responsible eldest, went over to investigate. After a few minutes of tinkering and pressing buttons, he sighed in frustration.
“I think it’s broken,” he said, wiping the sweat that had started to bead on his forehead. “We’ll have to call the owner and ask them to fix it.”
