Vana and Tauren were growing anxious, they had yet to find a someone who could beat their daughter in combat.

"Perhaps we should not have trained her so well, then finding her a husband would be much easier." Vana smiled and laughed as she watched her daughters train.

Tauren smiled and held his wife to his side, although their height was very different and their races were enemies, none could deny the love between them.

"She's your spirit."

"She's your stubbornness." Vana laughed at the look her husband shot her.

"She may look like an elf, but she's a dwarf at heart, my love. And I wouldn't have you, or her, or Tauriel, any other way. She is what this kingdom needs they will follow her anywhere."

"When you first told me we were having a child, I prayed to Mahal every night that he would give us a son, but when I saw her for the first time I knew that she would be better than any son we could have had. And you're right, Ruive is a dwarf at heart, but Tauriel is an elf in her heart she is kind and gentle. Our daughters are so similar and yet so different, they complete each other I could not ask for more."

Tauren gazed lovingly at his daughters his only wish was knowing that when his time came that they would be cared for.

"My lord, my lady. Word from the Greenwood." A servant handed a sealed letter to Vana.

"Thank you Carden."

Vana open the letter and read its contents in her head.

"Perhaps there is hope yet for Ruive to find a husband, King Thranduil, is bringing his son Prince Legolas to challenge Ruive."

Vana handed the letter to Tauren for him to read.

"I pray the lad can fight as good as Ruive, I cannot imagine Thranduil taking his son's loss to a woman all that well, or his son for the matter."

Tauren look out at Ruive who was sparring with Tauriel and said a silent prayer that when the two meet all would go well for both their's and the kingdom's sake's.
