AN - So because I have no patience at all, and I love updating for you guys. I'm gonna update already! Yaaaay! So that whole 'not updating' thing lasted, right!? ahaha

Anyway... I really hope you like it! I would love for you to vote/fan/comment (if you like) you're comments are literally the best thing ever and I am so, so grateful for every single one. You guys are amazing!

Warning - slightly mature, I guess? I dunno...

As always, I love you all, my sweetums!

It must be nearly summer, Louis thought as he walked out of the pub with Niall, Liam and Harry, it’s eight and it’s still light.

Louis had always loved summer because it meant Harry in shorts and white t-shirts, and no matter how many times Louis told Harry that he should wear shorts more often because he looked damn fine in them, Harry never believed him.

It meant a trip to Canterbury for a few nights in a B&B by the beach; just Harry and Louis; for ice-cream and a few bloody freezing hours (thanks to English weather) paddling in the ocean, and Louis would spend the day with goose-bumps, but he would do it anyway because those few days were always Harry’s favourite of the year.

It meant awkward tan-lines in the shape of trunks that would make Harry giggle as he traced them across Louis’ body with a forefinger, and soon they would be giggling together because Louis was ticklish.

It meant numerous trips to the pub with the boys to have chips and a pint in the pub garden, and Louis wouldn’t stop laughing the entire time because it was great just to be with them.

It meant a long-awaited trip with Harry up to Doncaster to visit his family, then a trip to Cheshire to visit Harry’s family; and that meant a few days either slapping Harry’s wandering hands away late at night because ‘No Harry, my Mum, Dan and my sisters are just next door and this is my childhood bedroom!’, or it meant a few hot and heavy nights with his hand pressed over Harry’s mouth, and his head buried in Harry’s neck to muffle any sounds that could give away any hints that there was anything untoward going on from within their bedrooms.

Except this summer, like the past four, would not resemble that at all. Of course it won’t. Of course it won’t resemble those summers, because this summer Harry isn’t his and nothing is how it should be.

So as Louis watches Harry and Niall climb into Niall’s car and he stands with Liam and watches them drive away, he bites his lip and wishes he had done something differently in his life, anything that would mean that Harry was getting into Louis’ car instead of Niall’s because that’s how things should be. He couldn’t help but resent Niall slightly, what has he done that Louis hasn’t to deserve Harry?

Louis tugged on his hair in frustration whilst Liam placed a gentle hand on his shoulder blade, grounding him: Why can’t things be easy? Why does everything have to be so hard? Harry probably doesn’t even love me anymore… Why can’t I just turn back the clock and bring it back to when Harry would always be there, waiting for me…

And as Harry climbs into Niall’s car, the Cheshire boy watched Louis’ figure shrink as they drove away, he couldn’t help but choke as he saw Louis pull on his hair in agitation.

Why did I have to be so stupid? Harry thought, Now he can’t even stand to spare a minute with me without wanting to pull his own hair out.

“Fuck…” Harry muttered under his breath.

“What?” Niall asked, glancing briefly over to Harry who jumped slightly in his seat, unaware that he had spoken loud enough for the Irish boy to hear.
