Chapter 42: There's A Man In The Woods

Hunter pov:

Everyone was right about pizza. It's delicious, hands down one of the best thing to eat on earth, Everyone except for luz was at the kitchen table eating, we told her to take a break and eat some pizza but she declined, saying she wanted to finish this chapter, that's what she told everyone,

" luz, you should really eat, spend some time with your friends," I told her. She looked at me from the coner of her eyes before sighing and groaning before speaking,

" I think I'm onto something hunter. Supposedly, the person who made this book was very close with two brothers who disappeared, can't be a coincidence."

" sighhh, fine but at least eat one slice of pizza before continuing" I said as I pushed her a plate of pizza, she reluctantly took it and ate it quickly before returning to her book, she thanked me and I left her to do what she was doing, but somthing wasn't right, it felt as though somone was watching us, the blinds were open and while we were talking I glanced outside but to see nothing, but that feeling still lingered, that somone was out there... watching.

An hour has past and everyone was getting ready for bed, I'm still on the couch though Camila says that when my body has 100% healed, I'll be moved downstairs in the basement with gus which will be fun, luz was doing another all nighter, reading and studying, only I know what she's acually doing or at least planning, I've told her that she needs to tell everyone about what she's actually doing but she doesn't want to get their hope up if she dosent find anything reliable, I can understand that she doesn't want to play with there feelings but it's causing problems and people are asking questions, amity keeps asking me what she's doing and I tell her the same thing luz has told her but she doesn't belive me, the others are starting to question her suden interest into reading, don't know how long I can lie for her, they're gonna find out soon, it's only time, but who will tell them, me or her....

" alright hunter I'm going to bed, I know your gonna be up for a little while so can you make sure luz goes to sleep before you do, she listens to you better than she listen to me"

" yea, I make sure she goes to sleep,"

" Thanks, and make sure you get some sleep aswell, don't think I haven't noticed the TV on during the night."

" Hehe, yea, I get some sleep, night Camila."

" Night cariño "

Camila went upstairs, turning off the lights and going to bed, I switched something on the TV and got cozy, the longer the night went the sleeper I got until eventually my eyes closed, I had almost drifted to sleep until I heard something,

Tap....Tap....Tap...

Something tapped against the window in the kitchen, it sounded distant, but I heard it, my eyes shot open, and I jumped, I paused my movie and listened closely, thinking it was possible nothing until I heard it again.

Tap....Tap....Tap....

There it was again, I slowly got up and quietly made my way to the kitchen, making sure to make no noise, the blinds were closed and shut, I looked to the right of me and saw the faint light in the next room, I quietly checked on luz, she was there fast asleep, softly snoring as she laid her face into the book, it wasn't luz making that taping noise, so who was it, or what was it,

Tap....Tap....Tap....

There it was, but it sounded closer, last time it sounded far away from the windows but now, it sounds like someone was taping on the window, I returned to the kitchen and gave my full attention to the window, I stayed there for a moment, my breathing had increased double and the hair from my arms stood straight up, goosebumps ran all down my arm going as far as my stomach, I grabbed the bottom of blinds and swiftly lifted them, ready to face whatever was behind it, but there was nothing, absolutely nothing, I squinted my eyes to try to see through the dark, I looked at every inch and saw nothing, it was probably just my imagination I said to myself, before I gave up and closed the blinds I took one final glance, thinking I would see nothing but how wrong was I, There in the distance behind a tree stood two glowing green eyes looking at me, My eyes widden in fear,  I stumbled backwards, slowly backing away from the window, but keeping my eyes on his, making sure he didn't disappear, but hiw luck would have it I accidentally stumbled over something and fell on my butt, loosing his eyes,
