=Chapter Twenty-One=

Jason's POV
=Monday, 16th of September
Percy was a mystery I couldn't unravel.
She was smart, strong, and yet sometimes naïve.
It was very clear she wasn't used to having a lot of money, or a friend to treat her out to things. It was clear she wasn't used to being in the city alone.. well maybe it was just Gotham.
It was strange how she refused a brand new phone, even looked frightened at the idea.
Doesn't girls love being on their social medias or whatever?
Ever since the night where I witnessed Percy fighting strange creatures, I've been watching and studying her. Trying to find out who she was, and what happened that night.
Mays bookshop had awesome couches, I have to admit. It made my research work more enjoyable, even if half of it was my work as Red Hood.
The other half was Percy.
Percy Jackson, or in full, Perseus Jackson, was the daughter of Sally Jackson, and father unknown.
Her records were horrendous, from suspected terrorism to being missing for months on end.
And all I wondered about the most was her hair, a single gray streak.
From stress. Was that really true?
I couldn't really keep the Lazarus pit out of the question, except my own streak was white, not gray.
So where did she get hers?
It was so bizarre, and yet intriguing.
It was clear Bruce thought I was insane now. Walking a cat he's got to be kidding. Anyone could tell that those... creatures, were not human. They were like.. reptiles...
I couldn't explain what I saw.
Even now my memories seem to get foggier every day.
I'm pretty sure I'm still too young to be experiencing memory loss.
"So basically, I want to reorganize the library again. But I don't know when to do it." Percy said, finishing her rambling, to which I had unfortunately tuned most out.
"I see." I responded, my eyes lowering to her plate, still mostly full, a tortellini pierced on her fork, which she held in front of her while she talked.
"I'm thinking maybe while May is out of town. That might be the best. I wouldn't feel too bad closing shop since I wouldn't need a ton of help, and May will be with her daughter." She continued, occasionally waving her fork around.
She's not actually eating much.
"You gonna eat that?" I ask.
She stares blankly at me for a moment before realizing I changed the topic. Her eyes darted to the fork, and the poor tortellini being teased every time she had previously almost eaten it but inevitably gets distracted.
