Jason's pov

Saturday, 5th of October

"So uh, what happened here? It looks like a wreck."  Piper McLean commented, walking towards our group with her boyfriend's hand in hers.

"Hey Pipes." Percy grinned. "We merely took a nap."

I rolled my eyes. "Yes.. being forced to the floor and having our valuables almost stolen is my favorite way to nap."

Percy smiled sheepishly while she shrugged.

Damn, she's beautiful.

That dress is amazing.

I'll be completely honest, It made things very hard for me.

I was cursing in my brain almost nonstop just to keep myself from dragging her away from the Gala and kissing her senseless.

But I have to be patient. I needed to tell her everything first which required a good time, no crazy co workers, no Galas, just a day with me and her.

It wasn't just a confession, it was a moment. It had to be right.

"Congratulations!!" Percy said ecstatically, tearing me from my thoughts.

Piper McLean was holding up her left hand, a dazzlingly bright and large diamond ring on her ring finger.

Oh. Marriage.. Engagement..

I zoned out again thinking of a gorgeous white dress and a certain smiling girl walking down an aisle towards me.

"Jasssooon.. you good?" Percy poked me as she tip toed to whisper in my ear.

A blush spread across my face and I cleared my throat looking away, feeling caught red handed in my thoughts.. innocent as they happened to be at that moment.

"Uh, yeah."

Luckily everyone else in Percy's friend group were distracted looking at Pipers ring and asking her and the other Jason the details about the engagement.

"Are you feeling unwell? You keep zoning out and staring at me." Percy asks again.

I nod, forcing my heart to still its relentless beating as I turned my gaze to look back upon her.

"I'm fine sweetheart." I give her a slight grin, trying to act chill and nonchalant.

Percy rolls her eyes at me, giving me her typical sass when she hears me call her a term of Endearment.. probably assuming I meant only a platonic friendship in it.

Oh how wrong she is..

"Okay, pookie, whatever you say." She grins challengingly.

I hold back a snort, making it sound more like a strangled grunt.

I force my lips into a line.

Maintain my image.. maintain my image..

"That was fun. I can see why red likes to do it.." Percy comments offhandedly.
