Saturday, 5th of October
"Piper!" I exclaimed excitedly.

"Hi! It's crazy you're here!"

I nod. "I made friends."

"Surprising.." Jason Grace came up beside her, slinking an arm around her shoulder.

"Hey, long time no see."

"Hey."

"How.." Jason Todd starts to ask but shakes his head, "never mind."

"Percy, I need to go greet guests.. I'll be back soon." Jason said exasperatedly.

"Sure."

I watch as a long stream of people show up, all wearing fancy gowns that fit the theme- even some that very much did not fit the theme.

"Ew, that orange looks hideous.." Piper stated from beside me.

"Ugh.. yeah." I nod. "She sticks out like a sore thumb.."

Piper, Rachel and Jason Grace stick beside me as the event goes on, and eventually it appeared that everyone had arrived, the Buffett was being raided and wine was being poured.

"Thank you all for coming.." Bruce says as he stands on a temporary stage.

"I'd like to give a brief speech about the fundraiser auction we will be hosting tonight."

A short murmur erupts from the crowd.

"As you all know.. there was a large explosion that caused thousands of homes and businesses to collapse, loose their windows... etc."

I nod in understanding.

"I have decided to donate a large amount to help get Gotham citizens back up on their feet."

An applause made him pause his speech, and he raised his hands to calm them.

"And I am also asking for your help too, to give back to the community. I have commissioned a large extravagant painting.." Bruce waved his hands and a few people removed a cloth from a square- now obviously a canvas- revealing a magnificent painting of a moonlit night over a river.

"This is by the most talented young lady here in this room.. Rachel Elizabeth Dare." My eyes widened as I turned to Rachel. "What? You painted that?"

She nodded excitedly. "Yeah!"

"I will start a bid, and when we've reached the highest we can, that money will be donated to help more of our city who needs the help recovering from this recent attack.. and those of the past."

Bruce raised his hands to calm the crowd again.

"We start the bid at.. 10 thousand."

One after another, many people started bidding, and the amount increased more and more until it had reached the millions.

Eventually the bidding war calmed down, and a winner was obvious.
