I'd like to dedicate this chapter for giggleme222 for the side cover over here! Thank u! =)

I wish that time would just freeze and let me have this day paused forever. But of course I’d have to wake up and see the sun shine for tomorrow. Indeed, tomorrow is another day.

I know that Marky has been clear about what he said last night even though I’ve been drowsing off half of it. But I’m just glad that he’s not avoiding me anymore for the past weeks. In fact, I’m looking at him making some pancakes right now. I’m so touched. Kyaaaa! (^.^)

“Keep staring and our baby’s gonna look a lot like me.” He says as he looks up at me.

I corrected myself and I cleared my throat. “Feeler.” I wanted to throw an apple at him.

“I hope we’ll go to school together.” he says. Oh, I realized it has been weeks since I’ve been required to stay at home and I’m coming back to school again.

“Well…” I hesitated for a while. I look up and caught his eyes. “Do I still have to go to school? I mean, my baby bump’s really getting huge and my feet are swollen—“

“You’re scared.” He stated.

I felt myself swallow hard. I tried to form some words but I failed.

“It’ll be okay.” There’s something in his eyes that makes me trust him. “Don’t you want to graduate high school anymore?”

A smile crept up my face. “You’re right.” I sighed. “I’ll go.”

I’ve never been so paranoid in my life until now. First, I almost lost my baby—even though the doctor assured me she’s fine I still can’t help but worry. In the process I almost lost Marky; second, the duchess! Good thing we hid it from her about what happened. And lastly, the end of the contract. Sometimes, I wonder what’ll happen to me—to us when the time comes. I don’t even want to think about it.

I went to school that day with my heart pounding in my mouth. I entered the hallways and all heads turn towards my direction. I was an easy target to everyone now. I had seconds of running away since the door is just behind my back when I felt Marky’s hand on mine.

I look up at him, pleading to just take me home.

“We’re in this together.” he tells me and I trust him.

We started walking down the hallways holding each other’s hand. People still stare but I didn’t see any look of indignation or contempt towards me. I’m starting to think that the passed days have not happened and people do forget. I heard Evan got suspended because of his brawl fight with Sydney and Marky. Although Sydney was placed in detention.

Marky has vowed (joke!), I mean Marky has guaranteed his time on escorting me to class and fetching me after class. It’s like he’s being a sweet boyfriend or something. It was kind of sweet yet I’m kind of embarrassed because I don’t know what we really are. Marky hasn’t pulled his hand away from me even if they’re already sweating. Even at lunch time, my hand’s still glued to his.

“Can I sit here with you?” I look up to see Syd. But he wasn’t addressing that question to me. But I answered it anyway.

“Of course, you can.”

“As long as he stays out of bounded premises.” Marky prompted and I squeezed his hands.

Syd hesitates for a moment. “I’m sorry for what I did. I know I’m a complete bull—“

“Yeah, I know.” Marky cuts him off. “I still can’t believe that I’m calling you my best friend after what happened.”

Syd scratches the back of his head. “Thank you… for having my back the other day.”
