Artemis P.O.V.

I sat on Wally's couch putting on an ace bandage. "This will do fine." I held up his large T-shirt. I put it on, and stood up. "Wally?"

"Yeah?" He answered back instantly, like he knew I was going to say that.

"Why did you save me?"

"Artemis..." He came over and stood in front of me, toe to toe. I was looking down, and he looked down with me, so we were touching foreheads. Then he gently brushed my hair behind my ear. "Why wouldn't I?" He smiled.

"Most people I know would have just left me there." I began to tear up.

"Don't cry, you're here and I'm not going anywhere." He lifted his hand up and used his thumb to brush away a tear. Something about him made me feel safe, like no matter what happened, he'd be there, next to me.

He was always kind, in a funny way. Whenever he could crack a joke, he did. And he was just so.. So magnificent. He always knew what to say, and when it needed to be said.  I lifted up my chin and looked into my eyes. His emerald eyes sparkled. He slowly moved closer and kissed me. His kiss was the first in months that didn't taste bad. It was sweet and soft and he didn't push my lips on his.

I broke the kiss. "Wally, I can't do this."

"Okay, whatever you need." He took a few steps back. He pulled off his mask. "I'll be back, I need to change."

I sat back down and looked out a window. It was pouring outside. And it was dark. Even though it was the middle of the day. When he came back, he was dressed in his usual outfit. A yellow long sleeved shirt with a short red button up over top with jeans, and white tennis shoes covered in dirt.

I looked up and gave a small smile. "I... I should probably go home." I walked towards the door.

"Are you sure you don't you want to stay? I have some leftovers in the fridge."

"Leftovers?"

"Yeah, the food I can't eat after making something."

"I know what leftovers are silly, but what do you have?"

"I might have spaghetti, or I could make you a sandwich."

"I'll just have some spaghetti."

"Ah, okay." He goes over to the fridge and starts reheating the spaghetti in the microwave. He ran around like and idiot, bouncing off walls, literally. He just kept running, until the microwave stopped.

"What was that?" I questioned him while laughing.

"Just something that happens." He grabbed my plate. "But here is some spaghetti."

"Thanks." I began to sit down. Before I could, he pulled out my chair and helped me in. I begin eating the spaghetti. Wally sat across from me, watching me eat. I set down my fork and pushed the plate towards him. "Have some."

"Dude, really? Thanks." Wally took a big bite and passed it back to me.

I set it to the side after finishing the rest. "Thanks, but I really should be going home." I got up, put my dish in the sink and rinsed the plate. I put on the mini skirt that I had on before, and left outside.

"Wait," Wally stood at his front door. "Can we still go on that date?"

I gave a small smile."Of course we can, 6 o'clock, pick me up at the cave, okay?"

"Okay." He smile back, as I walked away from his house.

I soon found myself at the front door of Ollie's house. I went in and instantly tried to find Dinah, but she found me. "Dinah!" I yelled at the sight of her.
