Me and my husband Shawn had just gotten home from picking up our 4 year old daughter Rachel from the babysitter since we went on a date tonight.

"Guess what mommy" Rachel said motioning me to pick her up.

"What baby?" I asked with a smile.

"I played with the puppy at the babysitters, mommy the puppy was very cute, can I have a puppy?" She asked playing with my hair.

"That's good baby, but for the puppy part...you have to ask your daddy" I said. I don't think Shawn would approve of having a puppy in the house, but he would do anything for Rachel and to try to keep her happy.

"Ask daddy what?" Shawn smiled leaning on the door frame.

Rachel slid out of my grip and ran over to Shawn wanting him to pick her up.
"Daddy I want a puppy" Rachel said looking at him in the eyes hoping for an answer.

"Well baby..." he started "we can figure this out in the morning it's really late and it's past your bedtime"

"Okay daddy, you promise?" She asked holding her pinky out for Shawn to wrap his around hers.

"I promise baby" he smiled wrapping his pinky around her small pinky finger.

Me and Shawn went to her room to get her changed into her bed clothes. I brushed her hair while Shawn finished putting on her pajama shirt. We put her in bed and tucked her in.

"Good night daddy and mommy I love you" Rachel said cuddling her teddy bear that Shawn gave her for her birthday. She said this every night when we put her to bed.

"Love you too baby, goodnight" we said kissing her forehead. I turned out the lights and we left a crack in her bedroom door.

Once I got to mine and Shawn's bedroom I took off all of my make up and jewelry that I had on tonight.

Shawn wrapped his arms around my waist and lightly kissed my neck.

"You were beautiful tonight babygirl" he said in the crook of my neck.

"Shawn thank you, even though you said it about thirty million times" I laughed taking off the rest of my jewelry.

"I know, I love you that's why" he said kissing my cheek before letting go of my waist.

I grabbed my bed clothes and went to the bathroom to change and to take the rest of the make up off of my face.

Once I finished I climbed in bed turning off my lamp and cuddling up to a sleepy and shirtless Shawn. I smiled and kissed his cheek.

The door opened and the light turned on and there stood Rachel with a sad look on her face.

"What's wrong baby?" I asked. She came up closer to my side of the bed.

"Daddy forgot to sing me a bed time song" she pouted crossing her arms over her chest. She was just too cute.

"You heard that daddy?" I asked looking at Shawn.

"Baby you can't be kinky right now save that for later Rachel is in here" he said.

"Shawn I wasn't saying it in a kinky way" I said.

"Now what did I forget to do?" He asked.

"You forgot to sing Rachel her bed time song" I replied looking back at Rachel.

"Oh yeah" he said climbing out of bed and scooping up little Rachel in his arms and I followed right behind them.

"What song do you want me to sing for you baby?" Shawn asked kissing her cheek.

"Umm..I don't know the name of it daddy, I think it went like....and I will walk this road, do I need to show you" she said skipping a few lyrics. I couldn't help but smile at her.

"Ooh that one" he laughed.

"Yeah..can you sing it for me?" She asked.

"Of course" he said clearing his throat.

He started to sing and his voice was so angelic and calm and soothing almost putting me to sleep from where I was sitting.

After he finished singing she was sound asleep hugging her pillow. Her light snores filled the silent room as we watched her before kissing her for head and turning out the lights.

We got to out room and we both climbed into bed. I snuggled up to Shawn, just the way we sleep every single night, it helped me fall asleep.

"Good night babe" he said pecking my lips

"Good night" I smiled before wrapping my arms around his torso and falling to sleep.
