Chapter 11 • "Teenage Dirtbag?"

Tilly's POV

"Whatcha guys talking about?" I ask as I walk into the living room and all the boys eyes turn to us girls.

"Um. We were talking about what we are going to cover at Michael's tonight." Ashton answers.

"Yeah, we should probably get going soon." Michael says looking over to the clock.

I quickly clean up and turn off everything making sure the house is fairly clean for when mum comes home and then head out the front to meet the others. I lock the door and catch up just in one before the gate closes.

"Did any of you guys bring a car?" I ask.

"Nope." They all say.

"Great. I should have worn my converse."

"Walking isn't that bad." Ashton says to me.

"No but when you're tired it's not good." I state.

"Michael?" I hear Luke say from behind. "How about we do a cover of Teenage Dirtbag?"

"Luke! That's genius." Michael says excitedly and Luke smiles back.

We arrive at Michael's and the boys start setting up to record their cover but first the spend an hour and a half playing video games until Ashton speaks up as it's 5pm already.

"Come on we need to record otherwise this will never get done." Ashton remarks.

"Are you going to watch?" Calum asks running around the corner.

"Yes!" Grace says enthusiastically.

"Me too." Rosie added.

"I guess I have no choice." I say and laugh.

We all sit behind the camera as Calum and Luke take their seat on the floor in the middle, Ashton sits on his box and Michael sits in a chair beside Luke. I decide to stand on Luke and Michael's side as I figured Grace and Rosie would want to be the other side. Luke gets up to turn the camera on and then presses a button to start the recording. Michael introduces the song and Ashton then on the count of four they start. Calum's beautiful voice fills the room as Ashton taps on his drum and Michael strums his guitar. My mind wanders to the fact that this band is gonna be big someday just as Luke starts singing with perfection. I can honestly say I have never heard anyone so talented at a young age. As I stand and watch along side Rosie and Grace I notice that instead of looking into the camera Luke was looking straight at me. Slightly confused I try as hard as I can not to look him directly in the eyes but it's to hard to ignore and my eyes lock with his when he gets to the slower part of the song. The boys finish not long after probably one of the most awkward moments in my life but some how one of the most connecting and Calum gets up to turn the camera off.

"You guys!!" Grace starts. "That was amazing!!"

"You all sounded so good together!" Rosie added.

"You really think so?" Michael asked.

"We know so." They both laugh. "Weren't they amazing Tilly?"

I am still pretty sure I'm watching Luke packing his guitar and things away until someone says my name.

"What?" I question as I turn to face them.

"I said didn't you think they all sounded amazing together?" Rosie repeated.

Still lost for words I stand there and say nothing.

"Awe, look she's speechless." Ashton remarks.

"I generally am." I say laughing and they all start to laugh too.

"Well that's three fans guys. We're doing well so far." Calum laughs.
