I was sitting next to Liam as we started driving to Mexico. I handcuffed him to his seat for the full moon.

"All good?" I asked. He pulled his arms up and they were restrained.
"I brought something to help you." Derek said and pulled out a talisman. I had one in my family like that. I was told it helped me control myself on a full moon but it was all psychological so it made the beta believe they were calmer because of the piece of wood.

"This has been with my family for centuries.  It's a very powerful, supernatural talisman." Derek explained.
"We use it to teach Betas how to control themselves on a full moon." He said and looked at Stiles while Liam studied it in his hands.
"Yes, it's powerful, very powerful." He agreed with Derek.

After a few hours driving the moon came out. Liam started tugging on the handcuffs and his grip on the talisman grew tighter and claws came out.
"Whatever you were going to teach me, I think you better start." He said.

"Liam, you with me? We have a mantra that we use." Derek said as Liam's breath started going faster.

"You repeat it, you focus on the words.
It's like meditating." Derek said. You say the words until you feel control coming back to you. Okay?"?

"Okay, okay! What are the words?" Liam asked anxiously.

"Okay, look at the triskelion.
See the symbol? I have a tattoo on my back, it's the same thing.
Each spiral means something." Derek explained.
"Alpha, Beta, Omega." Stiles said quietly.
"It represents the idea that we can always rise to one and fall back to another." I said.
"Betas can become Alphas.
Alphas can become Betas."
"Can Alphas become Omegas?" Liam asked cutting Derek off.

"All you have to do is say the three words.
And with each one, you tell yourself you're getting calmer, more in control." Derek said.
"Go ahead."
"Alpha, Beta.." " Slower."Derek yelled.
"Alpha Beta Omega." Liam kept repeating it but groaned a little in between trying to stay in control.
" Good. Say it again." I said softly.
"Remember, every time you say the words, you're getting calmer." Derek said.
"Liam kept repeating it but he didn't seem to be any calmer.
"Derek, I don't think the powerful talisman of self-control is working." Stiles spoke the obvious, but what he doesn't know is that it's normal for a new beta to react like this.
"Liam, say it again!" I demanded.
Liam started growling and before I knew it he broke free.  He jumped onto Derek at first but I ripped him off of him. I was pushing him away so he wouldn't kill me but I still received a couple starches.
" Derek? I think we're gonna need to go a little faster!" I yelled.

"Liam, calm down!" I said but he kept growling and roaring. I then remembered something Scott told me.
"Liam, what three things can't long be hidden?" I asked.
"Liam what three thing?" Stiles yelled.

"The sun,the moon, the truth."

"Again!"

"The sun, the moon, the truth." Liam said and he started to calm down.

His claws retracted and he looked at the scratches healing on my arm.
"It's okay, I'm healing." I said.

He then leaned in and kissed me. I was taken by surprised but I kissed him back immediately. I stopped and looked at Stiles and Derek who looked disgusted. "Get a room you two." Stiles said.

I laid my head on Liam's shoulder and held his hand in silence until we  got to La Iglesia.

"I can't believe I did it." Liam told me quietly. "Hey," I said putting my hand under his chin so he would look at me. I gave him a quick kiss and rested my forehead on his. "I knew you could do it." I said.
