Clove's POV

"He seemed nice."

My mentor Enobaria keeps on talking about Cato.

"Yeah. We've been friends for a long time. He's like a brother to me."

She looks at me unsatisfied.

"Are you sure about that? Maybe for you. But for him it's more than that."

I'm getting confused already. What the heck?

"I don't know what you're talking about. I know my district partner more than you do."

I raised a brow. This is ridiculous.

"I'm just trying to loosen the tension. As your mentor, I'll do everything to make sure one of you make it .. Or both of you WILL MAKE IT."

Silly.

"There's only one Victor."

"Not if you agree to my plan."

Enobaria's POV

Another potential Victor from our district. Another pride of district 2 has been born.

Clove & Cato were both vicious and exceptional.

I had seen the bloodlust in their eyes.

Clove, the girl with knives. Cato, the boy with sword. Both of them are deadly.

Cato is tough but I had noticed something about him. There was a soft side. Something that might weaken him.

That weakness can be his strength.

Clove, his district partner.

The way he lied his eyes on her, the happiness he had whenever they're together.

She wasn't just a friend or a district partner to him. He loved her.
