20~ The Silent Treatment

Nylein

"You WHAT?!" I shrieked as I leaped out of bed, suddenly full of energy. "Nathan, I cant- How could you- Why would you do this to me?! I told you I wanted to wait and now I'm sixteen and pregnant?!"

"Nylein, please, I didn't know!" I heard him get off the bed and wince slightly. "I didn't even know it was happening until Frolyn said something that reminded me of something I read! Please, Nylein, I had no intent of getting you pregnant! I want to respect your wishes about waiting until you become a full Sorceress!"

"But it didn't happen!" I clutched at my stomach and shut my eyes. Sure enough, there was something there. I could feel the life force slowly taking form. "My gods, Nathan, I'm pregnant! I don't know what to do! You did this to me! I said I wanted to wait and you didn't listen!"

"Nylein, please!" He grimaced. "The Scroll might not have worked and-"

"It did work!" I shouted over him. "The Scroll worked exactly like it was supposed to! I can't believe this! It's your fault!" I jabbed my finger in his direction.

"Nylein, I didn't know!" He said desperately. "I didn't mean to and-"

"No, not you!" I growled. "Your wolf! He took control when we were supposed to stay away from each other! He promised me that nothing would happen! He's the one who got me into the tub! It's his fault! Ugh! I can't even look at you, or even talk to you!"

"Nylein-"

"You better keep your wolf under control, or I will do everything in my power to suppress him and keep him from surfacing ever again." With that, I stormed out of the room.

"Nylein, wait!" He suddenly cried out in pain and I had to force myself to keep from running back to him. I may or may not have heated up that room in my anger... But it was warranted.

I let out an angry breath as I made my way to my room and slammed the door shut.

Instantly, there was a knock at my door. "Nylein?"

"Go away!" I screamed at the door.

"Nylein, what's wrong?" He tried to push the door open. "Open the door, Nylein."

"No!" I shook with rage and felt hot tears streaming down my cheeks. "J-just leave me alone!"

"Please, Nylein." My gods, just leave me alone! "Let me in. Tell me what happened."

"I said, go away, Frolyn!" I used his name. Maybe he'll get the hint.

"Okay, now I know something's wrong." I let out a wordless cry and clutched at my hair. "I'm getting in whether you want me to or not." He pushed and shoved on the door. I don't think I locked it... "Damn it, Nylein! Open up!"

I let out an anguished sob and shook my head back and forth. "Go away, go away, go away! Leave me alone!" My legs suddenly shook then fell out from under me. And then the waterworks began. "Please... just leave me alone..." The last part was just barely a whisper as more tears streamed down my face.

A few moments later, a hand rested on my shoulder before I was pulled into a light embrace. We didn't speak. All he did was hold me against him as he gently rocked us back and forth, allowing me to cry on him.

When I finally calmed down enough to speak, I clutched tightly at his shirt. "I'm sorry..." I whispered into his chest.

"For what, Nylein?" My master asked softly.

I sniffed and shook my head. "I-I'm pregnant..."

I felt him stiffen, but he kept rocking us. "How? You said the Scroll worked."

I swallowed hard. "I-I thought it worked... Maybe I missed something? I've never used one until then, so maybe it didn't work like I thought it did." I may be pissed at Nathan right now, but I still want to keep him from the wrath of my master.

He let out a heavy sigh. "I promise you, Nylein, I will help you with your pregnancy. I will answer any questions you may have, as well as talk with Nathan to let him know what to expect. You two won't be in this alone. I will be here for the both of you." All I did was nod.

"Nylein, please! I-" Nathan cut off mid word, possibly seeing that Frolyn was in the room with me. "F-Frolyn. I, uh, didn't realize you were in the room as well..."

Frolyn gave me a soft pat on my shoulder before standing up. "Nathan, your child is growing in Nylein. It will not be easy raising it. I've never dealt with a child that is half species, but I swear I will do everything in my power to make sure both Nylein and the child are safe. I would also like to have a word with you in private when you get the chance." With that, he left the room.

I remained silent as I stayed on the floor, my arms wrapped tightly around me. "Nylein, I'm sorry..." I didn't answer him. "I didn't mean for this to happen. I swear. Please believe me. I'm so very, very sorry... I promise you that we will get through this together. There's also a plus in all this. Neither you nor I have to go to the Alpha's meeting in August. We'l be allowed to stay home because we'll have a child to take care of."

Hearing that did make me feel better, but I still wasn't going to speak with him.

Nathan has come to terms that I am giving him the silent treatment. That was five days ago. He is giving me space and only speaks to me if it's something important, like a Rogue in the area and that I need to get somewhere safe.

Frolyn and Leon are the two main people I'm talking to. Frolyn has been giving me explanations as to what's going to probably happen as well as things that could happen, since this child is half Wolf, half Sorcerer. Things will be much different, but he will help in any way he can.

All this information I had been given has been swirling around in my head, and I need a break from all of it. Wynda and I are sitting on the back porch. I'm borrowing her sight so I can stay alert and focused, while still appearing to be relaxed. She's curled up beside me on the bench, her head resting in my lap and staring out to the forest.

"I still can't believe it..." I mumbled to her. "I'm pregnant... I'm pregnant with my first child. I didn't think it would happen so soon. I always thought I would become a full fledged Sorceress before this happened. I just... can't wrap my head around it."

"Everything will be just fine." Wynda assured me. "I'm here for you, and so is your master, Leon, and Nathan. Heck, the whole pack is here for you. They'll do everything in their power to make sure this goes without any issues."

"You're right..." I sighed to myself and lightly placed my hand on her head. "Everyone cares about me and will make sure I'm comfortable with everything that's going on. They'll look out for me. I just... wish it didn't have to happen so soon..."

"I agree." She snuggled closer to me and gave a soft sigh herself. "But no matter. What's done is done and we can't change that."

"I guess you're right..." I shook my head and tipped it back so it was resting against the side of the house.

As I relaxed, an odd feeling formed in my gut. I slowly sat up, my eyes scrunched a bit. What's going on?

"Wynda, do you feel that?" She looked up to me and shook her head. "Something's not right. I-I don't know what it is..." I watched myself fold my hands over my stomach.

"I have to talk to Nathan." We stood and headed inside to his office.

Hopefully he'll be able to help me with this.
