As soon as I got home I fell onto my soft bed, the down comforter enthrall one and wonderful. My head was spinning, my body aching and my mind burnt out. I close my eyes, reliving my night.
Mike had set me up with a nice gentleman, a man Harvey and him had won a case for. He owned and operated multiple hotels in the region and was actually closer to my age then Harvey. He was very sweet and kind, his name was Kyle. The night ended with a hot ms passionate kiss outside of Harvey's plaza and as much as he wanted to come in, I refused.
I did, however, feel like seeing him again. My shoes begin to slide off of my feet as my legs dangle off the edge of the bed. I can feel myself beginning to fall asleep but, to no avail, Harvey comes stumbling in almost like clockwork after me, and he's loud.
I put a pillow over my head and try to block out the sound. To no avail though, Harvey is making himself food, turning on his Jazz.
I grunt and walk out, my hair already in a mess and my heels off. The cool ground felt amazing on my aching heels.
"Your smiling." I grunt.
Harvey shakes his hips a little and opens a bottle of red wine, smelling it before continuing to his eggs.
"Are you drunk?" I curl my lip.
"A little." His grin is growing and I am slightly scared.
I look around the condo, no Zoe in sight.
"Did you get laid?" I yawn.
"No, but she agreed to go out with me again next week."
"I've never seen you so happy about not getting laid."
He shrugs and turns to me, handing me a glass of wine.
"God no, I've had enough to drink tonight." I chuckle.
Suddenly, his face is serious, and it isn't because I reject his wine offer, it's because of my mouth. He grips my face tightly in between his fingers and licks his lips, examining mine.
"Your lipstick is smeared." He says as I watch his jaw clenched.
It was then that I had come to the realization that Harvey wanted everything for himself. He wanted the true relationship with Zoe, but couldn't get passed me continuing to date also. Harvey wanted me for himself, Zoe for himself, Donna for himself.
"I went on a date." I mumble while my cheeks are smushed.
He lets go of my face and nods at me, dumping my offered wine down the sink.
"Now you're not going to talk to me?" I ask in disbelief.
"No!" He shouts, slamming the glass onto the counter top.
I watch it shatter, my insides clenching and my body flinching.
I wince and clench my teeth, opening my eyes to stare straight ahead.
"I'm not going to talk to you." Harvey states clearly.
"Alright then I'm going to bed." I respond quickly, trying to rush off, but Harvey grips back by my wrist.
"Harvey. Please let go." I whimper, almost in tears.
"Who'd you go out with?" He asks, his nostrils flaring and his breathing heavy.
"Kyle Vernan." I whisper.
"A client?!" He shouts again, letting go of my wrist.
I begin to walk away, but instead, I'm angry. I'm angry that he's angry. He has no right to be.
