It had now been a week after that awkward discussion with Brent, and luckily we both were acting like nothing happened. Everything was how it was before that discussion. Of course, Margaret and Samantha bothered me about it though when I told them. "What?!! He asked you out?!!!! When did this happen?" Margaret asked me ecstatically. "Why would you say no?!?! I mean look at him, I'm not going to lie, he is hot!!" Exclaimed Samantha. I was starting to wish I wouldn't of told them. "Calm down. He asked me last week. He is a nice guy and he's cute but I'm not ready for a relationship and we are better off as friends. That's why I said no." I stated. They both stared at me weird. They were about to ask more questions but luckily the bell interrupted them. I've never been so thankful for a school bell before. I rushed to my math class. As I entered the math room, I saw Brent saving my seat for me. I immediately sat down in the seat and gave Brent a thankful smile. He returned the same smile to me.  "Ok, so this is math class and we usually do math. Although, today we are going to talk about the upcoming dance." Said Mrs. Beck. Everyone squealed with joy. I was okay with it, it's better than stressing over math. "The upcoming dance will be on October 20th at 7-9 p.m. The theme of the dance is a starry night. I just wanted to let you know so that you can buy your dresses or tuxes and so that you can get a date." Stated Mrs. Beck. I saw Brent glance at me pleadingly out of the corner of my eye. I pretended like I didn't see him. The rest of class, we made posters for the dance. Brent and I worked on making a poster together. "So, we have 4 weeks until the dance, do you think that's enough time to get a date?" He asked jokingly. "I don't know. Get one and let me know" I joked back. We both laughed. The bell rang, telling us that it was the end of the day. "See you later Brent" I said to him. "Yea, I'll see you for our tutor lesson around 6." He said grinning. "I'll be there" I grinned back
