Stunned would be an understatement to say when I came to knew about my parents. Not just my dad but even my mommy accepted Islam as her religion and faith. Born and brought up as an atheist, it was hard to withstand my parents accepting the existence of God, having an actual faith in something. But over a matter time it didn't feel foreign. Mommy explained how my dad's friend, Mr. Khalid's brother inspired him to take a path towards this religion. My mommy herself gained faith when there was no single sign of cancer.

After years of suffering and pain, when she was adamant about her health being perfect, the doctor advised for the reports so she could come over the bubble of fake happiness and consume her medicines, which she refused to take. The results completely shocked us when there was no sign of cancer cell present in her body. Doctors themselves couldn't believe after three reports and seven days of observation. They asked her the reason but when she explained they didn't believe. They said even if any God existed the miracle was too huge. It shook me and Aiden to no end.(Sorry for not including long terms and deep explanations. I don't watch grey's anatomy)

After my mother's confession Aiden's behaviour concluded in a complete silence, indulging in work and hardly coming to home. I wasn't going to explain him how childish his acts seemed, he has to figure that out himself.

The month passed by people around me studying and filling up a bundle of papers through out the exams. Khadija would shout at me when I asked for a sleep over and Husna went crazy when I asked her to tag along for shopping. It was horrible as it seemed like an end of the world. They all were stressed and their faces had the glow missing which would have been replaced now. As for me, I didn't care much except graduating this thing called high school. I found an arts college providing culinary arts that seemed of my interest. There was no math or idiotic history in that education. A bit of mathematics but who can deny measuring food. Maths with food is amazing. Like if a recipe says 1 spoon of chocolate, you add 2. I love that sort of math.

Today was the convocation day to end with a farewell, and loads of tears. I surely won't be missing any humans from my school. But I expect Aiden to attend with my mother to see me pass in all the subjects because lets face it, I studied not much but something. I needed to graduate to not seem dumb.

Wearing up the abaya, I hide my spiderman shirt and Ice cream print PJs underneath. Taking a long scarf I tie a neat and perfect hijab which satisfies my heart. I followed the steps to wrap the niqab as shown by Husna. Checking myself in the mirror I face the black ghost with pretty eyes. Pleased with my look I enter my mom's room.

"Aw, my baby is grown up. Come here." I sat down to the prayer mat where she was praying.

She took me in a sudden embrace making me smile which warmed my own heart. I couldn't seem to come over the fact that today would be the last day of the school. No more scolding from teachers, no more canteen's food, no dumb people to look around, not being able to make Bethany embarrass and no more stalking Zayn. Almost sounds like I'm going to miss this thing. Weird.

"Mommy, you seriously need to stop calling me baby. You know, what I'm going to today is nowhere near a baby act. I'm a grown woman hiding her sexy ass under the abaya." She laughs pinching my nose making me scowl.

"I have prayed to Allah and he signed me go along. Now I need all the best blessings that you can provide." She took my head in her hands and placed a kiss on my head.

"You always have my blessing, baby." It is official that I will always be a baby for her. There is no changing her mind.

"InShaAllah I'll see you soon." With that I exited the door, somehow getting on the bike with my abaya crumpled beneath me and my ice cream pjs at the sight of the world.
