Pete laid in bed. All day he laid in bed.
He didn't answer the door when Brendon told him he got a letter.

The only time he got up was around six or so and Brendon was preparing dinner.

There was someone else at their apartment. Pete heard it.

He walked downstairs, as quiet as possible.

His body shook from the coldness.

Brendon said they couldn't afford to have a lot of heat.
Pete didn't doubt it for a second. They had like no money.

He crept into their living room, seeing all these people were sitting around laughing and drinking.

It brought back a memory.

Pete was talking to someone. Cigarette between his teeth and a bottle of vodka in his hands.

The memory wasn't much, but it was enough to make him shudder.

Which was enough to make people notice him.

"Hey Pete come sit with us." His one friend Patrick called out.

"Dude. Where were you?" Brendon's "just friend", Ryan, said with a chuckle.

"Sorry guys I was sleeping." Pete said grabbing a blanket off the back of the couch and wrapping himself in it.

Pete noticed something unfamiliar about the pile of "bills."

There was a bright green,
Neon almost package with it.

"Brendon, what is the package."

"I dunno man, it's for you."

Pete fake coughed, it felt like an awkward silence after he found out it was for him.

He got up and grabbed it.

No return address.

Inside, was some weird, and cool stuff.

Pictures of himself, taken by someone who had skill, and could catch Pete in moments where he was doing things without noticing the camera.

Pete also got a single leaf.
Was it supposed to symbolize himself? Pete shook his head trying not to think like that.

It also contained an inhaler, which to Pete knowledge he didn't need.

The last two things were the most important. A napkin, with the same scribbled handwriting, with the logo for the restaurant crossed out as best of the persons abilities. And a letter. Except this letter was thick.
