Just imagine if that happened to you
If you had just, disappeared.
The person people had known once, gone forever. And it hits them so quickly that they don't even want to recognize it. Over the intercom they announce your disappearance/death
And the next morning your love texts you saying "Goodmorning," waiting for your reply, even though he knows he won't receive it. And it repeats. He says he loves you. He says goodnight.
Everything he can think of he says

You're gone
And they've known for a while
And a few days after knowing they finally get the courage to text something to you
So they sit there
And text "Goodmorning baby, did you sleep well?" And just burst out crying.
Then before they leave
They check their phone again
And text you "I love you so much baby have a good day at school," before leaving
And they look down the halls
And at your old locker
And walk slowly down the hall to wait to see you
They wait to hear you laughing when you're talking to your friends
They wait to your voice making stupid jokes
They wait to hear you singing softly to yourself as they walk by
They may even murmur a soft "I love you," when they walk slowly by your locker.

Who knows
All the old customs they try to continue, but that's hard to do when it's just the one person.
