I watched as the floor was being cleaned and the window was being repaired. Movers were taking out my belongings from my room.

"Anya we're going to have to leave soon." I looked up to see Maria.

"Alright." I said pushing myself off of the wall I was leaning against. I walked slowly towards the front door not wanting to leave. This was a new step. I held my breath as if wishing this were all a dream and wake up, but when Maria opened the car door and still nothing changed I knew it was real.

I grabbed my jacket and keys and walked down the steps of the front porch. When my hand touched the passenger side door I turned to look at the house. I noticed that I had left my room window opened and a worker closed the window.

My glance changed from the window to the front lawn where a For Sale sign was being hammered into the ground. I wiped a tear that fell.

"Are we ready?" I faced Maria and nodded.

"Yupp." I said trying to act alright, but Maria could see in my face that this whole thing was hurting.

"Anya you don't have to except this. Let your emotions all go. This is hard for someone to lose their parent." I shook my head.

"No, I've already let out my feelings. They're gone and all I want to do is go." I got into the passenger seat and closed my door. Maria sighed and got in the driver seat. As she drove away though a few more tears fell.

My emotions were trying to get the best of me.

I was awoken when I heard the side door slam of the car. I stretched and rubbed my eyes. I noticed we were parked. When I heard the trunk open I knew we were here. I let out a yawn then undid my seat belt and opened the door. I stepped out into the sunshine.

I rubbed my eyes against then grabbed my sunglasses from my pocket and put them over my face covering the rays of the sun that were beating down. I looked towards the house and let me tell you this...

House was an exaggeration.

This place was a freaking mansion.

"Maria this definitely isn't the place." I told her. She grinned.

"This is the place Anya." She grabbed a few bags from the trunk. "1453 Helen Brook." I gulped and looked back at the house again.

"Right."

The outside was white with a gray shingled roof. The front door had an arch above it. The windows were spread throughout the house with the sun sparkling off of the glass. The front yard had a garden around the side of the house. From roses to tulips and even lilies and irises. My gaze followed the flowers down until they turned into shrubs that were neatly trimmed.

"Anya?" I turned to face Maria who had finished taking my bags out of the trunk. I rushed over to her and grabbed a few.

"Let's go." I told her taking a deep breath. I held it in until we were up on the porch and then I let it go. I heard the door bell chime throughout the house. It must've taken forever to ring around the whole house and get to the other side.

"Hello." A woman around her 30's opened up the door. She had light brown hair that was curled and bangs that were just above her dark chocolate eyes. She was wearing a Chanel dress with a flower pattern that clung tightly with a pair of white peep toe heels. A diamond ring shone brightly on her hand.

"Hello I'm Maria and this is Anya." Maria motioned to me.

"Anastasia." The women said. "Welcome to our home." She said and stepped aside motioning us in. She closed the door behind us.

"John!" She called throughout the house. "Toby!" I heard a few shuffles upstairs.

"Nice to meet you Mrs. Kelsie." Maria said shaking the women's hand.

"Please call me Sarah." Maria and I both nodded.

"I'm Anya." I said putting out my hand. Sarah took my hand and shook it. Her dark brown eyes glistened over with joy... I think?

"Oh John." We all turned to see a man of probably his late 30's. He was wearing a pair of black slacks and a white button-up shirt with the collar folded over and a blood red tie around his neck. He had black short hair and along with Sarah chocolate brown eyes. They were so dark they almost looked black. His skin was a pale coloring along with Sarah. His white teeth shown between his pale pink lips when he saw me.

"Anastasia." He said. He held his arms out as if expecting a hug.

"Hey." I said. His smile faded.

"It's me your father." He said. I looked him over.

"Too bad my father left me when I was just born." Maria's eyes went wide. Sarah's jaw fell in shock. John's jaw clenched.

"But I'm here now Anastasia." I grimaced at the name.

"It's Anya and that doesn't make up for anything." I grabbed my bags and looked at Sarah. "Can I ask where my room is?" She closed her jaw and swallowed.

"Third room on the left upstairs." I nodded and turned to face Maria.

"Thank-you." I said to her and gave her a hug. She smiled and hugged back.

"I'll be back to check and see how you're doing in about a month or so." I nodded. I then picked up the other bags and balanced them on my arms and slowly made my way up the stairs. I heard faint talking, but then I heard the front door close. I guessed Maria had left. I counted the doors in the white hallway until I came to the third on my left which was pretty long.

When the door opened it revealed a room with dark red walls and a queen sized bed. The bed had black silk sheets and white pillows. The floor was a dark wood and in the center of the room was a red rug to match the walls. The room was pretty much empty other than the carpet, bed, a few windows, and two doors. I closed the room door behind me and set the bags in a pile on the carpet. I walked over to the first door and turned the knob. Inside was a walk-in closet with clothes behind my price range.

From jeans to dresses and shoes... It was too much. Some girls would faint, but I on the other hand walked right back out and closed the door. Too many clothes scared me. I only had about three full bags from my whole wardrobe. I wiped it off and walked to the other door which was painted black and matched the sheets on the bed where the closet door was white and matched the pillows.

This door revealed a dark blue and black painted bathroom. The toilet was navy and the sink matched. There was a shower and a bathtub. Both separate. I walked back out not wanting to explore the huge bathroom which was both of the bathrooms in my old house plus a third on top of it.

I walked over to the window closest to the bed and looked out. It looked out to the front yard and I noticed that Maria's car was gone. I sat on the bed and looked around the room. I fell over and put my face on the pillows. Tears filled my eyes and I couldn't hold them back. This was so much in one day.
